The dilemma of the war in Ukraine: shortage of troops and dwindling international aid
Ukraine, the country of Eastern Europe, has been mired in war since the outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine conflict. According to the latest news, Ukraine's military resources are already seriously insufficient, and major donors such as the United States and Germany are also reducing aid funds. Ukrainian Defense Minister Umerov made an urgent appeal for this, hoping to mobilize 500,000 new recruits into the army. More strikingly, Umerov is also considering conscripting Ukrainians who have fled abroad to return home to fight in the war. The United States, Ukraine's main ally, has promised substantial military assistance. However, according to the latest news, in the US defense budget for fiscal year 2024, the amount of aid to Ukraine is only 800 million US dollars, which is a significant decrease compared with the previous year.
