Chinese police handed over 1 South Korean "red notice" to South Korea

The Chinese police recently handed over to the South Korean police the main culprit of the South Korean nationality in the "drug and drink extortion case on Gangnam Gakuk Road".

According to the South Korean police, in April this year, Li Moumou (male, South Korean, 26 years old) conspired with others to dilute methamphetamine (commonly known as "ice") into a drink, falsely claiming that it "can improve concentration", tricked more than 10 South Korean middle school students into drinking, and then threatened to blackmail the students' parents on the grounds of drug use. Li Moumou is wanted by the South Korean police on suspicion of providing drugs to minors, intentional extortion and other crimes. At the same time, the South Korean police applied to Interpol to issue a red notice against Li.

At the request of the South Korean police, China's Ministry of Public Security deployed the Jilin Provincial Public Security Bureau to conduct an investigation. With the close cooperation of the police of the two countries, the Jilin Provincial Public Security Bureau arrested Li Moumou, who was hiding in China. After completing the corresponding investigation of Li, the Chinese side decided to repatriate him and hand him over to the ROK in accordance with the law.

In recent years, the Chinese police have attached great importance to combating transnational crimes such as drug crimes, especially crimes that infringe on the rights and interests of minors, and have continuously strengthened cooperation with Interpol and the police of other countries. The close cooperation between the Chinese and ROK police to arrest and transfer criminal suspects in a timely manner fully demonstrates the confidence and determination of the police of the two countries to jointly crack down on transnational crimes. At the same time, this is also a positive result of the in-depth and pragmatic cooperation between the two sides and the continuous deepening of the joint pursuit of fugitives.
