About the actors
The male protagonist of "Flowers", Ah Bao, is a well-informed and well-read man, he is good at socializing, and can talk endlessly at various dinners and parties.

About the characteristics of the play
After being adapted into a play, because of the language characteristics of the novel itself, there are two versions: Mandarin and Shanghainese. Audiences who know Shanghainese will naturally use Shanghainese to understand, but those who don't understand Shanghainese will not have difficulty understanding it in Mandarin, which is the charm of language.
Jin Yucheng himself once said that although he wrote about Shanghai and Shanghainese, he wrote it from a perspective other than Shanghai, and he wrote Shanghainese from a position that northerners could understand, and he didn't want everyone to think that it was a dialect regional novel.
Jin Yucheng is very precious to this novel, and he has revised it more than ten times, and he has added more than 40,000 words to the single book.
Many of the characters in the novel have real prototypes, such as Xiao Mao, a good friend of the author, who went to Heilongjiang to farm together, and Xiao Mao was a factory doorman after returning to Shanghai, and now he has died.
Judging from the four episodes that have been broadcast so far, compared to the montage writing of the novel, the script is a lot more story-like.
For example, Hu Ge was in a car accident in the New Year, which involved various personnel relationships related to him.
The disadvantage is that although the story is turned into a story, the story that a man and three women can't tell still makes people less eager to see it.
The second is that the Shanghai dialect sounds a bit stiff, and although the actors are Shanghainese, the Shanghainese dialect is used to act in the whole play, and some pronunciations are not standard, so it is a bit of a play.
Director Wong Kar-wai, so many well-known actors participated in the performance, which lasted three years, plus the publicity before the broadcast was very arranged, judging from the current four episodes, it is indeed not as exciting as imagined.
