Currently, Thailand's Deputy Chief of the National Police, Surachate Hakparn, is conducting an in-depth investigation into the scandal, which has shocked all of Thailand with stories of shattered dreams and broken promises.

The investigation stemmed from the heartbreaking experience of Noei, a 36-year-old Thai model who claimed she was abandoned by her Chinese fiancé when he found out she was pregnant with a daughter instead of the son of her dreams. Noi, who has millions of social media followers, shared her ordeal, exposing the shocking reality of this illegal surrogacy.

Noi's ordeal began when a wealthy Chinese woman in her apartment introduced her to a series of Chinese suitors. Eventually, she falls in love with a man named Zhang. They traveled around Thailand together and ended up proposing and promising a wedding in September. However, when Noi reveals that she is pregnant with a girl, the fairy tale takes a dark turn, prompting Zhang to disappear from her life entirely.

The 42-year-old Chinese matchmaker accused Noi of failing to give birth to a child of the desired sex, a man, echoing a disturbing trend of Chinese men seeking surrogacy for women in Thailand and Laos as Chinese women lost interest in marriage.

Ekapop Luangprasert, adviser to Thailand's Minister of Home Affairs, accompanied Noi to refer the shocking case to General Suracat . According to the Bangkok Post, many Chinese men are allegedly looking for Thai and Lao women to have sons, a trend that is having a ripple effect on the marriage dynamics between the two countries.

General Surracat, who is also the head of Thailand's Child and Women's Protection Center, expressed concern about the possible exploitation of Thai women in this illegal surrogacy network. He promised a thorough investigation into the activities of the alleged matchmaker and promised to submit a detailed report within five days.

Investigators will uncover the Chinese woman's connections, her property ownership and her relationship to the missing Chinese man, Zhang. In addition, other Thai women who are said to have been approached by Chinese matchmakers will also be contacted to reveal the severity of this surrogacy trend.
