As someone who has lived in Iraq for 9 months, I have had the privilege of getting to know the country in depth and getting a feel for its culture, society, and people. Many people are biased against Iraq, but my own experience tells me that the country is far more colorful and vibrant than the media portrays.
First of all, Iraq has a long history and a splendid culture. In Baghdad, I toured the museum and saw precious ancient artifacts that bear witness to Iraq's long history of civilization. I also had the pleasure of visiting some of the ancient mosques and buildings that showcase the splendor of Islamic architectural art. These historical sites gave me a deep sense of the breadth and depth of Iraqi culture.
However, Iraq also faces a number of challenges. Protracted wars and political turmoil have led to economic hardship and social instability. There I witnessed scenes of people struggling to make ends meet. Inflation has caused prices to skyrocket, and many families are living below the poverty line. Still, I saw the resilience and optimism of people who worked hard and struggled to maintain hope in life.
At the same time, Iraqi society is still struggling to rebuild and develop. Education is one of the country's top issues, and many young people are eager to access better educational resources. I visited a number of schools and universities and saw the thirst for knowledge among the students, which gave me confidence in the future of Iraq.
In the course of my interactions with the locals, I was able to understand their desire for peace and stability. They want to see the country emerge from a long period of turmoil and move towards prosperity and progress. I have heard many voices about improving the political and economic situation and the desire to create better living conditions for the next generation in the future.
During my time living in Iraq, I have also experienced many challenges and difficulties.
