This is also the first time that a Chinese Navy ship has berthed in a foreign port to directly evacuate Chinese compatriots.

From 2015 to 2016, the 20th batch of escort formations of the Chinese Navy was directly transferred to the round-the-world mission after completing the escort mission. The formation crossed the Indian, Atlantic, and Pacific Oceans, and visited Sudan, Egypt, Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Poland, Portugal, the United States, Cuba, Mexico, Australia, Timor-Leste, Indonesia, and other countries.
The mission lasted a total of 309 days, and created a historic feat for the People's Navy to berth at 16 countries and 18 ports in one mission, sailing through the world's three oceans, five continents and three major canals.
