A bridge bridges north and south, and the water adds a thoroughfare. At 9 a.m. on December 26, the police gave their hometown, Red Pupu, and held a local opening ceremony for the Pupu Bridge. So far, the bridge, which has attracted the attention of millions of people in Lipu, has been officially opened to traffic 3 months ahead of schedule.
"The bridge has become wider and more beautiful, and it will save a lot of time when commuting to work every day in the future. Citizen Zhang Hong could not hide his joy. Early in the morning, the banks of the Lishui River were crowded with people and were very lively. The people of Lipu came to the scene one after another to witness the happy moment of the official opening of the Lipu Bridge.
The bridge was completed and opened to traffic in 1971 and has become an important traffic channel on the north and south banks of the county. In September 2021, the relevant departments organized experts to conduct professional inspections on the Lipu Bridge, which was assessed as a Class 5 dangerous bridge, with serious potential safety hazards.
The Lipu County Party Committee and the county government held a hearing, fully respected the will of the people, and after repeated arguments, decided to start the demolition and reconstruction of the Lipu Bridge, a major project for the people's livelihood.
On February 27, 2022, the Lipu Bridge was demolished by blasting. Since the official start of the construction of the project, all participating units have been fighting on the wall chart, inverting the construction period, scientific construction, and grasping the construction progress with quality and quantity. On October 3, 2022, the pile foundation construction of the bridge was completed, the construction of the bridge cap was completed on December 12, 2022, the construction of the cap beam was completed on January 10, 2023, and the main bridge was successfully closed on August 22, 2023, officially entering the construction stage of bridge deck engineering and ancillary facilities.
The newly built Lipu Bridge has a total length of 311 meters and a width of 18.6 meters, with four lanes in both directions. In order to facilitate the passage of the masses, the new bridge has a total of 5 upper and lower bridge passages and 2 observation decks. White marble railings are used on both sides of the bridge, and a total of 60 thematic reliefs are depicted, which are two chapters: police culture and red Pupu. The whole bridge not only retains the historical memory, but also is full of the atmosphere of the times, showing a smart, modern and gorgeous charm of Pupu.
After the opening ceremony, the masses walked onto the bridge one after another, smiling. Everyone raised their mobile phones and celebrated the beautiful moment by stepping on the bridge, live broadcasting, taking pictures, checking in, and singing.
