Recently, the Beijing Regional Statistical Yearbook 2023, compiled by the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Statistics and the Beijing Survey Team of the National Bureau of Statistics, was published and distributed. The book consists of 8 chapters, including 195 statistical tables and about 19,000 statistics. According to the yearbook information, in 2022, the permanent population of the functional core area of the capital will be 1.804 million, a decrease of 8,000 from 2021, and the regional GDP will be 913.72 billion yuan, an increase of about 5.25% over 2021.
"Beijing Regional Statistical Yearbook 2023" is an informative yearbook that reflects the economic and social development status of each district, including the main data of the city, the historical data of each district, the main data of each district, the main data of the development zone, the main data of the special functional areas, as well as the main data of the four municipalities directly under the central government, the main data of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, the Yangtze River Delta and the Pearl River Delta, and the comparison of the main data of Beijing and the whole country. The yearbook has also optimized the content of some chapters, and the chapter "Historical Data of Each District" has been adjusted to reflect the indicator data of the past ten years.
According to the yearbook information, in 2022, the city's permanent population will be 21.843 million, a decrease of 111,000 compared to the peak in 2016 in the decade. Among them, the permanent residents of Dongcheng, Xicheng, Chaoyang, Fengtai, Shijingshan and Haidian districts are 704,000, 1.1 million, 3.442 million, 2.012 million, 563,000 and 3.124 million respectively. Among the city's permanent residents, the number of elderly people aged 65 and above is 3.301 million.
In terms of GDP, compared with 2021, Pinggu District will have the fastest growth rate of 7.9% in 2022, followed by Dongcheng District (5.6%) and Xicheng District (4.1%), and in terms of per capita disposable income, Shunyi District will grow the fastest in 2022 at 4.5%, followed by Daxing District (4.4%) and Changping District (4.3%).
In 2022, the city will have a total of three development zones, namely Beijing Economic and Technological Development Zone, Zhongguancun National Independent Innovation Demonstration Zone and Beijing Capital International Airport Airport Economic Zone, with a total planned area of 48,563.6 hectares, a cumulative developed land area of 36,196.9 hectares, a total income of 9,533.18 billion yuan, and a total industrial output value of 1,448.41 billion yuan.
The development of characteristic functional areas has attracted much attention. According to the yearbook information, in 2022, the permanent population of the functional core area of the capital will be 1.804 million, with a GDP of 913.72 billion yuan, the permanent population of the central urban area will be 10.945 million, and the GDP will be 3.03172 billion yuan, the permanent population of the sub-center of the city will be 1.843 million, and the GDP will be 125.34 billion yuan, the permanent population of the plain new city will be 6.894 million, and the GDP will be 782.31 billion yuan, and the permanent population of the ecological conservation area will be 2.161 million, and the regional GDP will be 170.46 billion yuan. The legal entities above designated size in the high-end industrial functional zones, including Zhongguancun National Independent Innovation Demonstration Zone, Financial Street, Beijing Central Business District, etc., achieved a total income of 12,131.21 billion yuan and a total profit of 1,667.82 billion yuan.
Compared with the four municipalities directly under the central government, the per capita GDP of Beijing is 190,300 yuan, that of Tianjin is 119,200 yuan, that of Shanghai is 179,900 yuan, and that of Chongqing is 91,000 yuan, that of Beijing is 284.33 billion yuan, that of Tianjin is 56.87 billion yuan, that of Shanghai is 198.16 billion yuan, and of Chongqing is 68.66 billion yuan, and that of Beijing is 49.8 percent, that of Tianjin is 38.4 percent, that of Shanghai is 38.1 percent, and that of Chongqing is 44.6 percent.
