Recently, the Beijing Regional Statistical Yearbook 2023, compiled by the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Statistics and the Beijing Survey Team of the National Bureau of Statistics, was published and distributed. The book consists of 8 chapters, including 195 statistical tables and about 19,000 statistics. According to the yearbook information, in 2022, the permanent population of the functional core area of the capital will be 1.804 million, a decrease of 8,000 from 2021, and the regional GDP will be 913.72 billion yuan, an increase of about 5.25% over 2021.

Among the city's permanent residents, the number of elderly people aged 65 and above is 3.301 million.

In terms of GDP, compared with 2021, Pinggu District will have the fastest growth rate of 7.9% in 2022, followed by Dongcheng District (5.6%) and Xicheng District (4.1%), and in terms of per capita disposable income, Shunyi District will grow the fastest in 2022 at 4.5%, followed by Daxing District (4.4%) and Changping District (4.3%).
