When he was a child, Huang Jun liked to watch the lion dance the most, the street was full of people, in the loud and heavy drumming, crisp gongs, the lion dancers would first play a burst of southern boxing "open the pile", and then the two of them played a lion dance, they jumped in the air, light and smooth, making people's blood flow, and the other person wore a smiling face "big-headed Buddha", holding a big sunflower fan to lead the lion to the stage, and the sound of applause resounded in the sky. Huang Jun was touched by the moment when the lion's body swinged its tail in the air, and when he grew up, he became the inheritor of the lion dance. He is now the president of the Saigo Dragon and Lion Sports Association and the fourth generation of the Shangchuan Huang Liansheng Lion Dance Troupe.
Today, every kind of traditional art is facing embarrassment, and the lion dance has encountered it in the transformation. Fortunately, like other intangible cultural heritage projects, the lion dance has regained its vitality after experiencing a difficult transformation and inheritance. In 2020, Shangchuan Huang Liansheng Lion Dance was awarded this national award, "This is an affirmation of the cultural value of lion dancing and a solemn entrustment of the inheritance of intangible cultural heritage, which is a link between the past and the present, folk customs and history of Lingnan." Huang Jun talked about the meaning of inheriting the lion dance, someone once asked him, learning other sports can also strengthen the body, you can also play with other classmates and friends, what can the dragon and lion dance do? Huang Jun has taken many apprentices, Hua Di has liked to watch lion dances since he was a child, and later formed a lion dance club in Bao'an Vocational and Technical School, and joined the Huang Liansheng lion dance troupe by chance. But most people gradually stay away from this traditional folk sport after working and starting a family, and Hua Di is the one who chooses to stick to it. "Because of my love, I want to use my small strength to promote and spread the traditional culture of lion dancing. Hua Di said that there is no need for everyone to learn lion dance, as long as there are still people willing to understand the Xi and knowledge of lion dance, the culture can be inherited. "The process of tying the lion's head is divided into four steps: piercing, fluttering, painting and loading, each of which is not simple, bamboo to make bones, paper to make skin, ink to add brilliance, fluff to show majesty, well-made lion head is powerful and smart. Hua Di introduced the production process of the lion head, first of all, the skeleton of the lion's head is woven with bamboo strips, this step determines the shape and firmness of the lion's head; flutter is to brush the pasted gauze paper and gauze in order to paste the bamboo embryo, this step pays attention to fast and stable, in order to make the lion head light and firm; painting is to draw different patterns and patterns on the white embryo, painting the lion head, the hand is more stable, the background color can be even, the pattern is more beautiful; the decoration is to use various materials to decorate the lion head that has been drawn, and the lion head is equipped with eyebrows, Eyelashes make the lion's head fuller and more vivid.
Huang Jun has used decades of persistence and exploration to advance his love for lion head into a career. He set up a team to create a traditional dragon and lion workshop, pure craftsmanship to manufacture southern lions, lion drums and other products supporting the dragon and lion, and now exported to Malaysia, Singapore, handmade for competitions, export of high-end lion heads, snapped up orders have been scheduled to the Spring Festival.
