IT Home reported on December 25 that Xiaopeng Huitian announced that the tiltrotor technology verification aircraft had completed the vertical and hovering test flight, which was not the final configuration, and was mainly used for the verification of tilting, flight control and aerodynamic performance technologies.
At present, the team has completed the iron bird test of the electrical system of the whole machine, the flight test of the small-scale demonstrator, the static test, the ground resonance test, the full power operation test of the power system, and the ground and air tethered operation test.
At the same time, the tiltrotor technology demonstrator has obtained the special flight certificate issued by the Central and South Regional Administration of Civil Aviation of China on December 20.
IT House noted that the tiltrotor is a design feature of a vertical take-off and landing aircraft, which is unique in that the wing and propulsion system can be tilted at the same time, thus switching between VTOL and horizontal flight.
The tiltrotor technology demonstrator has 10 aerodynamic rudder face channels, 2 tilt angle control channels, 8 total rotor pitch and 8 speed combined tensile torque control channels, for a total of 28 control channels. The redundancy control channel allows for more precise control of flight attitude and ensures flight safety to a greater extent.
