Even after his death, Qianlong made an exception to let him enter Zhaozhong Temple, which shows Qianlong's attention and appreciation for him. To this day, his heroic deeds are still sung, and he is still a presence that people can give a thumbs up.
So how legendary is this general, and why does Qianlong value it so much?
1. Solun Baturu
"Three of Sauron, be a tiger", as the oldest nomadic Sauron tribe, Hailancha has been skilled in riding and archery since childhood. It has been recorded that "Hailancha, born with sparse strength, good at shooting, and the middle one dies", it can be seen that he has a strong riding and archery ability. Moreover, he also embodies excellent qualities such as resourcefulness, courage and good fighting, and uprightness.
Since the Jurchen tribes were ruled by Huang Taiji, the Sauron tribe also entered the ruling area, and for a long time, they were stationed in the north to resist strong enemies for the Qing army. In the twentieth year of Qianlong, he couldn't bear the torture of the people everywhere, so Hailancha was conscripted into the Qing army and became an ordinary cavalryman, also known as a "vest".
In the same year, Qianlong launched the Battle to pacify Dzungaria, and decided to completely uproot this nail-like steppe tribe in order to ensure the tranquility of the border and the integrity of the territory. For this reason, he did not hesitate to devote the strength of the whole country, and finally eliminated Dzungaria in one fell swoop after more than three years.
During this period, there was also a major event, and that was the rebellion of Bayar, the leader of the Huith. The cunning Bayar fled to the mountains, and the cavalry battalion where Hailancha was located was ordered to pursue, although the mountain roads were intricate and the terrain was steep, but the keen Hailancha still found Bayar's traces, plus he had a good riding and archery ability, and with only one arrow, Bayar was captured back to the camp.
At this time, he was just an ordinary cavalryman, but Qianlong was very satisfied with such feats, and immediately summoned him into the palace. Hailancha still has a lot of potential, and Qianlong also has the heart to promote, so he was not only named a second-class guard, but also called "Baturu". This is the highest honor for a warrior.
In addition, in order to encourage the soldiers and increase their morale, in the Ziguang Pavilion, Qianlong specially hung the portraits of those meritorious generals. And the portrait of Hailancha was also hung here by Qianlong's personal decree, which can be said to be a great honor. However, Hailancha did not indulge in fame and fortune because of this, but continued to cultivate Xi his martial arts.
Soon after, the Battle of Qing-Burma broke out, which was also a crucial battle for Hailancha. Although he was only twenty years old when he participated in the war, the spirit of a soldier was vividly reflected in him, and he was already quite a famous general at this time.
At that time, the commander was Qianlong's brother-in-law Fu Heng, and as the elite of the Eight Banners, Hailancha also participated in the war with him. In this battle, Hailancha's performance was very impressive, he personally led 300 cavalry, raided the Burmese camp, and smashed the Burmese army camp. Soon after, the Battle of Lao Guantun showed his extraordinary bravery and super command ability, and he led his troops to carry out many attacks on the Tin Foil Burmese Army, not only taking half of the Burmese army, but even capturing two important figures.
Hailancha once again made military achievements, and at Fu Heng's request, he was named the deputy capital of Mongolia with the yellow flag (the first of the three banners).
2. The Battle of Jinchuan
If you want to say that what really made Hailancha famous, it had to be the next battle - the pacification of the Jinchuan Rebellion. Geographically, the Great and Small Jinchuan River is located in the northwest of Sichuan, on the plateau. Dajinchuan is now Jinchuan County, Sichuan Province, and Xiaojinchuan is Xiaojin County.
It is the throat of Chengdu into western Sichuan, and it is also a bridge to Tibet, Gansu and other places. It can be hidden far away, and it can control Sichuan in the near distance, which is an extremely important strategic place. However, due to the isolation of the place, the imperial court did not completely rule, but handed over to the canonized local nobleman Tusi, which only contributed to the power of the Tusi.
Just when this force was about to be uncontrollable, Qianlong finally made a move, gathered officers and soldiers to fight in Sichuan, and vowed to uproot this powerful tribe. In the thirty-sixth year of Qianlong, Hailancha led his troops to Sichuan to crusade against Jinchuan. When he set foot on the land of Jinchuan, he found that there were endless mountains everywhere, and it could be said that the position of the rebels was very favorable.
However, these did not intimidate Hailancha, on the contrary, he fought with all his might, and the people of the Jinchuan tribe were afraid of him. When he just led his troops, he met Feng Sheng, who was attacked by Xiao Jinchuan, and the two tacitly cooperated, quickly occupied the thirteen villages and then took the wooden city, and also defeated the rebel leader Zebdan, Xiao Jinchuan was successfully broken, and the Qing army harvested a large number of grain and grass equipment.
In the 38th year of Qianlong, Hailancha marched to Dajinchuan for the first time, and with his efforts, the enemy's pillboxes had been breached a lot. The Qing army attacked day and night, causing the enemy to retreat one after another, and Hailancha took advantage of this to occupy the high ground. Although he was accidentally surrounded by enemy troops, he remained calm and composed, even when the situation was already unfavorable, he still fought bravely.
After more than a year of precipitation, Hailancha once again led his troops to attack Dajinchuan, and with his previous experience, this time he was enough to use his tactics to the fullest. Coupled with his excellent command ability, the Qing army was like a bamboo, and the battle of Dajinchuan was completely victorious.
The Qing army finally completed the task of pacifying Jinchuan, and Hailancha once again relied on his outstanding performance to enter the Ziguang Pavilion for the second time, and was also awarded the title of "First-class Super Yonghou".
3. The conquest of the Gurkhas
In the fifty-second year of Qianlong, Lin Shuangwen's rebellion broke out in Taiwan, and Hailancha assisted Fukangan to solve the rebellion. When he first arrived in Taiwan, Hailancha made a surprise attack on the rebels according to the situation, and the rebels were really frightened and chaotic, and Hailancha easily solved many rebels.
Later, in the Battle of Liuqiumen, Hailancha once again captured the enemy's head with one arrow, successfully captured Lin Shuangwen, and quelled the rebellion in Taiwan. This time, Qianlong gave the jade pendant on his waist to Hailancha as a reward, and his portrait was even more into the Purple Light Pavilion. Four years later, when the Gurkha invaded the Shigatse region, Hailancha led his troops again, and after arriving at the war zone, Hailancha sent troops from Jizhi to the middle and successfully took a pillbox. However, in another bunker, the Gurkha army could not hide, and Hailan broke the wall in anger and led the troops to start hand-to-hand combat.
Hailancha alone killed three leaders and 200 Gurkha troops, which shows its strong combat effectiveness. Even if there was no bridge, it could not stop the attack of Hailancha, and the Gurkha army scattered and fled. With the victory of the three armies, the Gurkha announced its surrender.
With his outstanding ability, Hailancha was once again awarded the title of First-Class Super Brave Prince, and his portrait was hung in the Purple Light Pavilion for the fourth time.
