On September 16, Chery announced the naming of its new energy product series "Fengyun", which is also the fourth new energy sequence launched by its own brand after the Great Wall Thunder series, Geely Galaxy series and Changan Qiyuan series. According to Chery's plan, Fengyun will launch 11 new models within two years, and the official images of the A9 and T11 have been released before.
On December 24, Chery Fengyun A8 officially opened pre-sale, the new car is equipped with a Kunpeng super hybrid C-DM system composed of a 1.5T engine + electric motor, with a pre-sale price range of 13-150,000 yuan, and will be officially launched on January 3. At the same time, the official also opened the pre-sale of multiple benefits.
The exterior of the new car follows the styling design of Chery Arrizo 8, with a large grille at the front, a dot-matrix blackened grille inside, and a narrow and sharp headlight cluster on both sides, connected by a slender chrome trim strip, and embedded in the middle of Chery New Energy's latest flat LOGO to reflect its identity as a new energy vehicle.
The length, width and height of the new car are 4780mm, 1843mm and 1469mm respectively, and the wheelbase is 2790mm. The sides feature a segmented waistline that echoes the recessed design under the doors, while the window bezels and side skirts are adorned with chrome trim, while the rear is equipped with a continuous rear tail light cluster, which is recognizable when lit up.
In terms of interior, the new car adopts a two-tone contrast design, equipped with a three-spoke flat-bottomed multi-function steering wheel, dual 12.3-inch instrument cluster and central control touch screen, using Lion5.0 technology cockpit, equipped with 8155 intelligent chip, it only takes 2 seconds to boot, and applies a new HMI interactive design and simple menu layout, with rich entertainment application resources under the Lion 5.0 ecology.
In addition, the new car is equipped with a multi-scene mode and 256-color dazzling ambient lighting, as well as comfortable and safety features such as an openable panoramic sunroof, ventilation and heating functions for the main driver's seat, and L2+ intelligent driving assistance systems.
In terms of power, the new car is equipped with a plug-in hybrid system consisting of a fifth-generation ACTECO 1.5TGDI high-efficiency hybrid engine + motor, mated to a DHT150 hybrid transmission. Among them, the maximum power of the engine is 115kW and the peak torque is 220Nm, the maximum power of the motor is 150kW and the maximum torque is 310Nm, the fuel consumption is 4.2L/100km under WLTC working conditions, the comprehensive fuel consumption is only 1L/100km, the pure electric range is more than 125km, and the comprehensive range is more than 1400km.

Fengyun A8 has many competitors, including BYD Qin PLUS DM-i, Geely Galaxy L6 and Changan Qiyuan A05 and other compact plug-in hybrid products, the pre-sale price of 130,000 yuan does not have a particularly obvious advantage, and whether it can win a place in the fierce competition in the end, it depends on whether the pricing and comprehensive strength of the new car are more sincere after the launch.
