Chinese painting is a treasure of excellent traditional Chinese culture and one of the important material carriers of national "cultural self-confidence".
Compiled and published by Zhejiang University and Zhejiang Provincial Bureau of Cultural Relics, the "Great Collection of Chinese Paintings of the Past Dynasties" includes a total of 12,405 pieces (sets) of Chinese paintings from 263 cultural and museum institutions at home and abroad, and compiles and publishes the Complete Works of Pre-Qin, Han and Tang Paintings, the Complete Works of Song Paintings, the Complete Works of Yuan Paintings, the Complete Works of Ming Paintings, and the Complete Works of Qing Paintings, with a total of 60 volumes and 226 volumes.
The 18-year-old "Great Series" is still being supplemented and improved, and a total of 240 volumes are expected to be released.
"Fuchun Mountain Residence: Chinese Painting Collection" by Hangzhou Fuyang District Federation of Literary and Art Circles and Zhejiang University Press, opened in September this year, will permanently treasure a full set of "series", is currently the only "series" special collection museum in the country.
Because of the large number of volumes, the "big series" of books in the Special Collections Museum will be exhibited in a cycle of 3 months, with 20 books in batches, and it is expected that the full set of books will be exhibited in about 3 years. The Special Collections Museum is located in the Gongwang Art Museum in Fuyang, Hangzhou, with a total area of 380 square meters, including a reading area, an exhibition area, an interactive area and a digital experience area.
The most important reading area is two rows of 24 sets of custom-made tables and chairs, which are convenient for readers to flip through the heavy and large-sized "big series" of books. The table can be flipped to change the angle, the top is equipped with a retractable table lamp, a magnifying glass and white gloves are placed on the side, the chair is a rose chair imitating the Song Dynasty, and the back is a bookcase of "Forbidden City Red", which is full of ancient charm to create an immersive reading and viewing experience for readers.
In one room, you can see the famous paintings of the past dynasties. Instead of traveling thousands of miles, without crowds and time constraints, you can look at each painting at your own pace and discover the beauty of the details.
In the future, the Special Collections Museum will also hold various supporting activities for a long time to continue to interpret and explore traditional Chinese painting art.
