Recently, the Guangdong Coast Guard Bureau successfully seized a batch of smuggled cigarettes, with a case value of 17 million yuan, severely cracking down on illegal acts of maritime smuggling, and effectively maintaining social order and economic order in the coastal areas of Guangdong and the waters under its jurisdiction.
On December 3, the Guangdong Coast Guard Bureau received a report from the public that a ship was suspected of smuggling in the waters near Dangan Island in Zhuhai, and the bureau immediately dispatched Huzhou boats to the target waters to carry out investigation operations. At about 11 o'clock on the same day, the Huzhou boat found a suspicious anchored cargo ship in the target sea area, and after boarding and inspecting it in accordance with the law, the law enforcement officers found a batch of suspected smuggled cigarettes in the cargo hold of the ship, and the crew could only show the ship inspection certificate, and could not provide other certificates of the ship and the relevant documents of the crew on the spot, as well as the legal source certificate of the batch of cigarettes, and the law enforcement officers seized the ship involved in the case and the goods contained in accordance with the law.

On December 4, the Guangdong Coast Guard Bureau, together with the Huangpu Border Inspection Station and the Huizhou Tobacco Monopoly Bureau, jointly counted the materials involved in the case, and after investigation, there were 7 crew members on board, and the ship carried more than 98,000 suspected smuggled cigarettes, a total of 26 varieties, and the amount involved was about 17 million yuan, and the case is currently under further investigation.
