Malakhov joins forces with top dancers to recreate the male version of "Death of a Swan"

From April 29th to 30th, Vladimir Malakhov, known as one of the most artistic dancers today, will join hands with eight world-renowned ballet stars to debut at the National Centre for the Performing Arts, bringing a special performance of "Marachov and Friends Ballet Collection", an avant-garde modern ballet, to present the audience with a dazzling ballet night.

Born in Ukraine during the former Soviet Union, Marachov is known as the "Dancer of the Century" with solid ballet skills and outstanding performance ability, and is one of the iconic figures in the contemporary dance world. At the age of 18, he became the youngest principal dancer of the Moscow Classical Ballet, and at the age of 24 he joined the Vienna State Opera Ballet as a principal dancer, where he was a longtime principal performer at the Stuttgart Ballet, the Canadian National Ballet and the American Ballet Theatre. At the age of 34, he was hired as Artistic Director and Principal Dancer and Choreographer of the Berlin State Opera Ballet. At the age of 46, he was appointed artistic director of the Tokyo Ballet and at the age of 48 he became honorary president of the European Dance Association.

Throughout Marachov's dance career, from Russia, where ballet culture is thick, to the United States and Europe, where the artistic atmosphere is active, he has been committed to cooperating with world-class dance masters in various countries, and Martha Graham, Pina Bausch and others have choreographed works for him. At the same time, his rich dance experience has also inspired his creation, and the true meaning of classical ballet, the diversity of modern choreography, and the differences between Eastern and Western cultures have been perfectly interpreted in his works, making him a veritable all-round master of art.

During his visit to China, Marachov will join hands with eight top dancers to present a wonderful performance for the audience. During the two-day performance, there are 15 works of classical ballet and modern ballet. Among them, there are classic ballet excerpts such as "Esmeralda", "Don Quixote" and "The Nutcracker", as well as modern ballet works with very different styles, such as "Alone Together" by the famous choreographer Benjamin Mippard in 2015, "Philia" about love and beauty, and "Iriper", which skillfully combines the neoclassical movement with Latin style.

In addition, Malakhov will also perform the male version of "Death of the Swan". In June 2013, as Artistic Director, Marachov led the Berlin State Opera Ballet to the National Theatre, where they brought a GALA and ballet "Xianyuan". In the GALA performance, Malakhov's male version of "Death of the Swan" has attracted the attention of ballet fans. This time, he will once again show his excellent technique and interpretation of Saint-Saëns music.

In terms of cast, Mikhailovsky Ballet solo star Julian MacKay will visit again. In the 2017 "4th Beijing International Ballet and Choreography Competition" National Centre for the Performing Arts Ballet Performance, Julian McKay impressed the audience with his difficult skills and moving interpretations.

In addition, Alessio Carboné and Litichia Pirol, principal dancers of the Paris Opera Ballet, Lisa Pavlov, soloist of the Baden National Theatre in Karlsruhe, Germany, Kristina Kletoeva, principal dancer of the Bolshoi Theatre, Joel González, founder and principal dancer of the Cuban Medura Ballet, Aracalis Lovaina, principal dancer of the Cuban Medura Ballet and principal guest artist of the Chilean National Ballet, It will also take the stage in turn to show the audience the extraordinary strength of ballet stars from all over the world.
