As the only century-old "time-honored" oil exploitation enterprise in the country, Yanchang Oilfield has maintained stable production of more than 10 million tons for 17 consecutive years since it entered the ranks of 10 million tons of large oil fields in 2007.

"Gathering energy and extending value" is a dream achieved with a hundred years as the time node, and it is also a new green hope gushing out in the yellow earth.
Let CO2 move "underground".
On December 10, the reporter came to the second phase of the construction site of the CCUS National Key R&D Program Project of Xingzichuan Oil Production Plant in Huaziping Town, Ansai District, Yan'an City - the second phase of the construction of the demonstration project of clean and efficient utilization of coal and new energy-saving technology "CO2 oil displacement technology and geological storage safety monitoring".
This is a new 260,000 tons/year CO2 flooding and storage project after the 100,000 tons/year CO2 flooding and storage project was put into operation in the Ansai oil area, and it is also a concrete practice of implementing the national "double carbon" strategy.
"At present, the construction project has entered the countdown," said Liu Xuefeng, the person in charge of the Xingzichuan Oil Production Plant, "The main project has been capped at the beginning of the month, and the finishing work is now underway, and it is expected to be fully completed by the end ......of the year."
"We capture the carbon dioxide emitted from the products of the coal chemical industry, transport it here in special vehicles, and inject it into the ground at high pressure. Yang Yongzhao, deputy captain of the first oil production team of Xingzichuan Oil Production Plant, said: "The project can be used for oil displacement after being injected into the ground to improve oil well production, and achieve the win-win purpose of improving oil recovery and storage and carbon reduction."
At present, Yanchang Oilfield has established a pilot test area and demonstration base for the national science and technology project in the eastern and western oil areas such as Ansai, Jingbian and Wuqi, and after the project is put into operation, it will greatly reduce the carbon dioxide emission reduction generated by the coal chemical industry in Shaanxi.
It is estimated that if 400,000 tons of carbon dioxide are injected a year, it is equivalent to planting nearly 3.6 million trees every year, and nearly 240,000 economic cars will be stopped for one year.
Development makes way for ecology
Northern Shaanxi is located on the Loess Plateau, with scarce rainfall, sparse vegetation and fragile ecological environment, therefore, in the process of long-term oil exploitation, Yanchang Oilfield has always adhered to the concept of development to make way for ecology, developing in protection and protecting in development.
The exploration and development area of Yanchang Oilfield involves 20 counties and districts in 3 cities: Yan'an, Yulin and Xianyang. Under the demarcation of ecological red lines, the oil fields were withdrawn from the protected area for exploitation, the oil wells in the nature reserve were sealed, the clean and civilized well sites were fully covered, the vegetation was restored, and the greening project of the oil area was implemented.
The relevant person in charge of the environmental protection department of Yanchang Oilfield said: "At present, the oilfield is making every effort to build 'six oilfields', and the green oilfield is one of them. For a long time, the greening project is the environmental protection criterion of the oil field, on average, the oil field will plant more than 80 million trees, plant hundreds of acres of grass, and green more than 100 kilometers of roads. ”
Nowadays, walking into the oil production area of Yanchang Oilfield, there are clean and tidy pumping units, well sites covered by green trees and red flowers, black asphalt roads, and clean and civilized well sites abound, constituting a harmonious picture of "wells in the scene, and oil is also a scene".
Focus on both the ground and the underground. On the basis of protecting the environment to the greatest extent, how to make the development and utilization of petroleum resources more efficient is the direction that Yanchang Oilfield has been focusing on exploring.
In recent years, Yanchang Oilfield has continued to increase oil and gas exploration and development, increase reserves and production, stabilize and revitalize the stock of conventional wells, and optimize and expand the increment of unconventional wells. Here we have to mention the strategy of "stabilizing and increasing non-profit" that is being implemented in the oilfield.
In 2022, Yanchang Oilfield will carry out the pilot test of "large well clusters, multi-layered systems, and three-dimensional" for the benefit development of tight oil shale oil in accordance with the idea of "integrated design, platform-based well layout, factory operation, and large-scale transformation". At present, a number of platforms have been drilled and put into production, and the environmental advantage of this project is that it can greatly save land resources.
Taking the 32 tight (shale) oil demonstration platform of Xiasiwan Bridge Exploration as an example, the platform has developed two sets of strata at the same time, and the surface well site covers an area of only 0.02 square kilometers, but the actual underground mining reservoir area is 7 square kilometers, showing the environmental protection mining advantage of "one point on the ground and one piece underground". Compared with the original model, the area occupied by a single well is reduced by more than 80%.
In less than two years, 12 platforms have risen from the ground, completed drilling and oil production one after another, opening a new situation of green and energy-saving development of oilfields. Through this model of "large well group and small oil field", the impact on the natural ecology is not only reduced, but also all the resources sleeping underground can be "returned to the warehouse".
Oilfield furnace "transformation"
The season has entered winter, and the temperature is low and cold, but Cao Haiqiang's heart is warm, because for him, this year will be the third warm winter in his well.
Just the year before last, before the arrival of the cold winter, the personnel of the oil well associated gas recovery and utilization team of the Xiasiwan Oil Production Plant in Yanchang Oilfield upgraded the coal-fired boiler of Caohaiqiangjing Station. In the face of this new change, Cao Haiqiang is deeply satisfied. He said frankly: "The all-intelligent gas furnace has allowed his well station to bid farewell to the 'coal furnace era' for more than ten years, and since then he has lived a convenient life of 'zero coal combustion' and clean heating." ”
Cao Haiqiang's well station is one of the first pilot projects of the plant's independent innovation "coal-to-associated gas" project, and he has been deeply touched by the use of the plant in the past two years: "Now it has changed a lot, there is no coal and cinder, and the well site is much cleaner." The one-button operation of the device, automatic operation, and all-weather uninterrupted constant temperature heating have changed from hard work, dirty work, and tiring work to piggyback work. ”
It is understood that at present, Xiasiwan Oil Production Plant has achieved the goal of "zero coal" for clean heating in winter of the whole plant.
The reporter came to the Songlin Joint Station of the Nanniwan Oil Production Plant of Yanchang Oilfield, and saw that the newly installed gas boiler was not only clean and bright in the boiler room, but also did not smell any peculiar smell, and there were only 2 employees on duty in the boiler room. One of the attendants said that in the past, the hearth "ate" coal, and when the furnace was burned, black smoke was emitted, and their throats were choked, and they worked in three shifts a day, with six people in one shift, and they had to add coal and pour cinders from time to time, and they were very busy every day. Now in addition to the necessary maintenance of the equipment, it is basically automatic operation, and only one person can complete the operation in the control room, which is not only safe and environmentally friendly, but also saves money, space and manpower.
Especially in recent years, the oilfield has continued to deepen the construction of green oilfields, accelerate the promotion of energy conservation and emission reduction, especially in the transformation of coal-fired boilers, in accordance with the overall work idea of "gas is suitable for gas, electricity is electricity", and with the goal of completing the transformation of production boilers around the built-up areas of cities and county-level cities under its jurisdiction and joint stations and water injection stations, a leading group for the promotion of coal-fired boiler transformation projects has been set up to promote the demolition and reform of coal-fired boilers.
In more than two years, Yanchang Oilfield has invested more than 500 million yuan for the implementation of coal-fired boiler renovation projects, and has completed the transformation of more than 500 coal-fired boilers, dismantled and deactivated thousands of units, and the basic transformation of coal-fired boilers around the built-up areas of the cities under the jurisdiction of the oilfield and its subordinate units and large-scale joint stations with transformation conditions has been completed. Through measures such as clean energy substitution and the promotion of low-carbon production methods, the consumption of raw coal has been greatly reduced, and the emission reduction of carbon dioxide has also been reduced.
The well site "torch" disappeared
In the early years, at the production site of oil wells in Yanchang Oilfield, a "small torch" more than two meters high could be seen burning in the air from time to time on the edge of the well site. The medium of combustion is petroleum associated gas.
In the process of oil extraction, the associated gas is recovered along with the extraction. In the early stage of oilfield development, due to the limitations of geological conditions and technical and technological constraints, the associated gas has not been well collected and utilized, and if the gas volume is not emptied in time, it will bring serious safety hazards. The purpose of the "torch" is to release the danger through the combustion of these dangerous gases.
Now, when we walk into the Qianli oil area of Yanchang Oilfield, we basically can't see the phenomenon of "torch" burning.
"If it is not recycled, then these gases are polluting gases, and if they are recycled, it is an important energy and chemical raw material, which can be processed into more than 20 kinds of products such as light hydrocarbons and liquefied gas, and the economic benefits are good. Zhang Hongpeng, chairman of Yanchang Oilfield Clean Energy Company, said: "For more than 7 years, we have used advanced technology to recover and utilize associated gas in accordance with the principle of collecting and making full use of all receivables. ”
At present, a standardized, modular, and highly automated associated gas comprehensive utilization station is processing and reprocessing the exported gas. The author understands that the company has used 49,000 wells for associated gas, accounting for 59% of the total number of wells opened in the oilfield. As of June 2023, a total of 1.097 billion cubic meters of associated gas from oil wells have been recovered, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 2.15 million tons. After processing, a total of 330,000 tons of mixed hydrocarbons, CNG2281 million cubic meters, 69,600 tons of LNG, and 927 million kWh of power generation have been produced, and the company has maintained profitability for 8 consecutive years, achieving a win-win situation of economic benefits and energy conservation and emission reduction as a whole.
In addition, following the capture, collection, storage and utilization of carbon dioxide, the green and energy-saving mining mode, the conversion of boilers from coal to gas and electricity, and the recovery and utilization of petroleum associated gas, Yanchang Oilfield has also continued to implement green carbon reduction measures in the fields of wind power and photovoltaic multi-energy complementary projects and charging pile service ecological chains, and made more efforts to accelerate the transformation of oilfields to a green and low-carbon direction.
Green and low-carbon development has made the "century-old mine" full of vitality again in the new era and new journey.
