On the morning of December 21, Shanxi Lixi Expressway Co., Ltd. held a grand opening ceremony of the Shanxi Lishi to Xixian section of the Hubei National Expressway in the square outside the toll station at the intersection of the Xixi Expressway, and the Xixi Expressway will be officially opened to traffic at 0:00 on December 22.
It is understood that the Lixi Expressway is a key project in our province to achieve the goal of "county and county expressway", an important part of the G59 Hohhot to Beihai Expressway, and also an important section of the fourth vertical section of the province's expressway network "4 vertical, 15 horizontal and 33 linked". The Xi-Ji Expressway project is connected to the Linli Expressway in the north and the Xiji Expressway in the south, passing through the three counties of Liulin, Zhongyang and Jiaokou in our city. The total length of the main line is 83.2 kilometers, and the technical standard construction of two-way four-lane expressway is adopted, with a bridge-tunnel ratio of 36.69%. There are 4 toll stations on the whole line, Zhongyang toll station is located in Funan Community, Ningxiang Town, Zhongyang County, Zhongyang South Toll Station is located in Chemingyu Village, Nuanquan Town, Zhongyang County, Jiaokou Toll Station is located in Guangwuzhuang Village, Shuitou Town, Jiaokou County, and Jiaokou South Toll Station is located in Shikou Village, Shikou Town, Jiaokou County. There is 1 service area and 2 parking areas. The project started on December 5, 2019, completed the delivery and acceptance on October 28, 2023, and obtained the approval of the provincial government to set up a toll station on November 30, 2023.
Lixi Expressway was officially opened to traffic, ending the history of Jiaokou County not being connected to the expressway, and realizing the 786.7-kilometer connection of the G59 Hubei National Expressway in Shanxi. It plays an important role and significance in improving the national and provincial highway network planning, improving the transportation conditions in the mountainous areas of Luliang, accelerating the development of regional tourism, helping rural revitalization, ensuring the implementation of the strategy of the rise of the central part of the country, and promoting regional economic development.
