The suspect identified the scene

According to the police handling the case, Mr. Li, who is in his 20s, runs a battery car store in Daqiao Town, Hejiang County, Luzhou City. After getting acquainted with Zheng, Liao, and Zhu, they soon became friends. Not only do the four of them often play games together, but when Mr. Li is too busy or goes out, he also asks Zheng to help them or look after the store.

Mr. Lee's shop has a square tin box, and he stuffs all the loose bills (including the 100 yuan denomination) he usually collects into the tin box and locks it, and usually does not open it. Over time, this detail of hiding money was seen and remembered by Zheng and the three of them. Since Zheng and the three were unemployed, but they needed expenses, the three of them actually came up with the idea of Mr. Li's money box after discussion. Taking advantage of the opportunity to help look after the store, the three of them secretly equipped a key to the tin box, and took it in the tin box when they ran out of money.

Although Zheng, Liao, and Zhu took the money in the tin box many times, Mr. Li never found it until one day in October this year, when his mother said that the money he had put on the bedside table was missing, and Mr. Li was suspicious when he couldn't find it. When he opened the tin box, he was dumbfounded: the 100 yuan, 50 yuan, and 20 yuan banknotes he had stored in it were all gone, and only a few dozen yuan "gross tickets" remained.

Tin box after theft

Mr. Li suspected that one of the three friends had done it, but Zheng and others did not admit it, and quickly handed Mr. Li a "confession video".

In the so-called "confession video" provided by the trio, they asked a teenager surnamed Zhang whether he had stolen Mr. Li's money through a video call. The teenager strenuously denied it at first, but after repeated questioning by the three, the teenager admitted that "he stole Mr. Li's money because he had no money to spend".

After getting the "confession video", Mr. Li believed it to be true, accompanied by Zheng and the three of them, went to the Daqiao Police Station to report the case, and submitted the "confession video" of the teenager surnamed Zhang to the police.

The scene of the crime

The police station immediately summoned the boy surnamed Zhang to the police station for questioning, but he quickly confessed that he had not stolen money at all. The "confession video" he cooperated with was "directed" by Zheng and three others; after the incident, Zheng, Liao, and Zhu also gave him 100 yuan for his travel expenses, allowing him to go to other places alone to "avoid the limelight."

The truth is revealed. Zheng, Liao, and Zhu confessed that the three had stolen a total of 15 times, stealing a total of more than 12,000 yuan in cash, and the stolen money had been squandered. At present, the criminal suspects Zheng, Liao, and Zhu have been taken criminal compulsory measures by the Hejiang police in accordance with the law, and the case is being further investigated.
