Fang Jing has shown a high musical talent since she was a child, especially the traditional art of ethnic folk songs.
Whenever her parents played a song by the famous singer Guo Lanying at home, she would stand quietly at the age of 5 and listen, her eyes full of irrepressible enthusiasm.

In 1990, Fang Jing entered the Beijing Broadcasting Institute to study Xi. When she learned that news presenters also need to be highly verbal and expressive, her sense of purpose drove her to pursue this career.
The new outlet of defense is on the cusp of trouble
In 2006, CCTV launched a new national defense and military program - "New Observation on National Defense". The program is intended to enhance the public's awareness of national defense and analyze defense news events from a novel perspective.
The program production team went through layers of screening, and finally awarded the host position to Fang Jing. At that time, she had worked at CCTV for many years and was a well-known female anchor who was a household name.
Presiding over the job was a breeze for her. "New Observation on Defense" quickly gained great attention and became a benchmark program in the minds of military fans.
In March 2009, according to the normal job allocation arrangement, CCTV decided to let Fang Jing leave the project team. Unexpectedly, just 3 months later, she was suddenly involved in an uproar.

She could have become China's next singer-level star, but due to a decision by her family, she dramatically gave up her music path.
