According to Hefei Daily, the reporter learned that the construction of the junior class college building of the University of Science and Technology of China is planned to start in 2024, and it is planned to be built in the open space near the school gate of Jinzhai Road on the East Campus of the University of Science and Technology of China. After completion, it will form the core area of the East Campus of USTC with the old building of the Junior Class, the library and the first teaching building of USTC with Guo Moruo Square as the center, and will also become an important landmark of the west gateway of the HKUST campus.

Yang Yuanqing said that benefiting from the cultivation of his alma mater, he had the opportunity to realize his ambition to promote the popularization of "computing power" as a teenager, and he was full of gratitude to his alma mater and always hoped to give back to his alma mater. It is hoped that after the completion and commissioning of the junior class college building supported by this donation, it can provide a first-class Xi and scientific research environment for the younger students, help them achieve outstanding results, become the pillars of the country, and contribute to the development of human science and technology.

According to Bao Xinhe, President of USTC, the new Junior Class College building will create a quiet and high-quality academic and Xi research space, create a future-oriented and all-round development of the education complex, shape the "exhibition hall" of China's colleges and universities, and finally form a new image gateway of HKUST, a new engine of the city's energy level, a new model of national education and a new landmark of scientific research in the world.

"Mr. Yang Yuanqing is an outstanding alumnus of USTC, and his achievements are the pride of our alma mater. Today, Lenovo Group continues to grow and develop, and it has demonstrated the power of China's intelligent manufacturing on the world stage. Bao Xinhe said that this donation will greatly promote the construction of the junior class college building of USTC, which will strive to be officially put into use in September 2028, the 70th anniversary of the founding of USTC, to provide a more high-quality and comfortable Xi and research environment for young talents.

"Although I was not qualified to apply for the examination back then, and I was somewhat 'envious and jealous' of the alumni of the junior class, I have several good friends in the science and technology circle who graduated from the junior class of HKUST. Their professional achievements and outstanding contributions to the country and the development of human science and technology can especially reflect the original intention of the establishment of the junior class. ”

"After graduating from the Junior Class in the future, it will be my greatest honor if I can drive more alumni to continue to pass on the culture of 'giving back to my alma mater'. Yang Yuanqing said.

In addition, on the morning of December 20, the General Association of Huizhou Entrepreneurs was formally established in Hefei, and Yang Yuanqing was elected as the first president of the General Association of Huizhou Entrepreneurs. Yang Yuanqing said that in the past, after Huizhou businessmen became rich, they gave "fish" to their hometowns, invested in the construction of their hometowns, and set up schools. Today, most of the new Huizhou businessmen are studying abroad and starting a business, and after success, they are returning to give them "fishing". In recent years, the development situation of the hometown is very gratifying, which is not only a good opportunity for Huizhou businessmen to return to their hometown, but also a rare development opportunity.
