This is the first time that the Hurun Research Institute has released the "Global Cheetah Enterprise List".
It is understood that the selection criteria for this list are high-growth companies established after 2000 and most likely to reach a unicorn-level valuation of one billion US dollars within five years, and the deadline for valuation calculation is December 31, 2022. Accordingly, the Hurun Research Institute found 747 cheetah companies in 198 cities in 34 countries around the world.
In terms of distribution by continent, Asia is ahead of North America and has the largest number of cheetah companies. In terms of the distribution of specific countries, China ranks first with 291 companies, and the United States ranks second with 246, accounting for 72% of the total number of known cheetah companies in the world. The United Kingdom is in third place with 38 cheetah companies and India is fourth with 36.
In terms of city distribution, Shanghai is the global capital of cheetah enterprises, with a total of 64. Beijing came in second with 59 and San Francisco in third with 46. In addition, Hangzhou, Shenzhen, Suzhou and Guangzhou are also among the top 10. London, despite being in seventh place with 28, is also the European capital of cheetah companies, more than Paris, Berlin, Oxford, Basel and Munich combined.
In addition, there are 149 cheetah enterprises in China's Yangtze River Delta region, accounting for 51% of the country's total, and 56 in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, accounting for 19% of the country's total.

Health technology and other industries According to the list, biotechnology and health technology are the main industries for Cheetah Enterprises, followed by enterprise services, fintech and e-commerce. 66% sell software and services, 34% sell physical products, 33% are consumer-facing, and 67% are B2B businesses.
In China, more than half of the Cheetah companies are concentrated in the biotech, healthtech, corporate services and semiconductor sectors. The representatives of the cheetah companies on the list include this core technology, Lepure Biotechnology, and Micro-Nano Starry Sky. The United States is concentrated in the fields of biotechnology, health technology, software services, enterprise services and financial technology, and the representatives of Cheetah companies on the list include Underdog Fantasy, HOVER, and Landing. The rest of the world is concentrated in the fintech, e-commerce, healthtech, software services, and biotech sectors.

Hurun emphasized: "The tracks covered by these companies are very worthy of everyone's attention, such as biotechnology and health technology, which are the most favored by Cheetah companies, and there should be more unicorn companies in these two tracks in the next five years." ”
In addition, the report also includes the "2023 Hurun Global Cheetah Investment Institutions Top 50" and "2023 Hurun China Cheetah Investment Institutions Top 30", which list the 50 most successful global cheetah investment institutions and the 30 most successful Chinese cheetah investment institutions, respectively, based on the number of cheetah companies they have invested in this list.
Among them, Sequoia China, which became independent from Sequoia Global in June this year, has become the most successful global cheetah investment institution, investing in 60 known cheetah companies. This is followed by CICC, Matrix Partners, SoftBank and Tiger Global.
