On December 16, Mr. Zhang came to the Xiangcheng Public Security Bureau in Xiangyang, Hubei Province, and told the Jimu News reporter about the tragic experience, and he hoped to use his own blood and tears to remind the public to be wary of the trap of online tourism consumption.

I applied for a group trip abroad online and was deceived into the wire fraud park

In November 2019, Mr. Zhang, who lives in Xiangcheng District, Xiangyang, planned to travel to a country in Southeast Asia. He asked the local travel agency, the general price of more than 7,000 yuan, and he checked on the Internet, only 4,500 yuan, as well as luxury yacht transfer, Mr. Zhang was immediately moved, added the WeChat of customer service on the Internet, and the two sides agreed to meet at the local international airport on November 19.

In the morning, Mr. Zhang departed from Wuhan Tianhe Airport and arrived at about 4 p.m. After contacting customer service on WeChat, a van came to pick him up, saying that he would go to the hotel to rest first. The van drove for about half an hour into a park.

"Get out of the car, get out of the car, this is where you work!" Before Mr. Zhang could react, his mobile phone, ID card and passport were confiscated, and then he was taken to a "team leader" by two "internal security guards" (so-called internal security guards) who were about 2 meters tall and asked to learn Xi gambling knowledge.

Mr. Zhang immediately felt bad, and before he could resist, he was kicked to the ground by the gun-wielding "internal security". Thinking that the good man would not suffer immediate losses, Mr. Zhang pretended to agree to study and Xi for a while. Six months later, seeing that Mr. Zhang's business ability was really not good, the "team leader" found him to talk: pay 110,000 yuan, including shuttle fees, accommodation fees, catering expenses, etc., and let him go back.

In desperation, Mr. Zhang had no choice but to contact his parents and pay 110,000 yuan. Mr. Zhang, who originally thought he could return to China, did not expect that he would be sold to a second company.

One person raised 20 WeChat, and one was fined 10,000 yuan for "death".

After the first company paid 110,000 yuan, Mr. Zhang was picked up by a van that said it was taking him to the airport, and as a result, the van drove into another closed park. His mobile phone, passport and other belongings were once again confiscated. History is playing out again.

"I'm a slow typer and I can't talk to people. After learning that the second company's daily job was to add WeChat to chat with people, and then carry out telecom fraud, Mr. Zhang resolutely refused: "I just don't know anything, so I was sold by the first company." ”

After being severely beaten, Mr. Zhang was arranged to work as a "WeChat supporter". The so-called "raising WeChat" is to improve the activity of the WeChat account, so that this account is like a normal use, and it will not be considered a zombie account that no one uses and will be seized. Subsequently, the company sent Mr. Zhang 20 mobile phones, bound 20 WeChat accounts, and asked him to use these 20 WeChat accounts every day to chat with each other, send WeChat, and swipe the circle of friends.

"If you raise a WeChat to death, you will be fined 10,000 yuan. And every month, the WeChat account managed by Mr. Zhang will always be seized, so he has to compensate every month. "These WeChat accounts were purchased by the company for 400 yuan through various informal channels, and it is normal for them to be seized, but as soon as they are seized, I have to be fined and beaten. ”

After more than a year, Mr. Zhang's parents paid him more than 1 million yuan until his family's savings were emptied. Seeing that he really couldn't come up with the money, the company logged in to Mr. Zhang's WeChat account and cheated money from his relatives and friends.

After getting out of the "thief's den" and being deceived again, the anti-kidnapping organization rescued him

By the time Mr. Zhang woke up, he was lying in the emergency department of a hospital. Mr. Zhang recalled that his frontal bone was smashed and he spent more than 10 days in the hospital before being discharged, and his forehead is still uneven.

After being sent to the hospital, the kind doctor helped Mr. Zhang contact his parents, paid him for his hospitalization and some living expenses, and the local embassy in China was also ready to help him return to China and asked him to go to the immigration bureau to apply for a replacement passport.

To reissue a passport, he first had to publish a statement of lost passport, then resubmit the information, and go through a series of processes such as approval. Mr. Zhang found an "agency" company on the Internet and said that he could get a passport in three days. On the third day, Mr. Zhang was invited to a "travel agency" to collect his passport.

There are more than 100 people who were sent to the third company with Mr. Zhang, because there are too many "newcomers" who go at once, the company has not yet sent new mobile phones, and personal mobile phones have not been confiscated, but they have organized everyone to learn Xi investment, gambling and other knowledge together. Realizing that he was trapped, Mr. Zhang sought help online and contacted a local anti-kidnapping group, which quickly contacted the police and searched the third company, rescuing more than 300 people.

In October 2022, after the efforts of the local police, immigration and embassy, Mr. Zhang finally returned to his home country. After returning home, Mr. Zhang was reluctant to go out and had little contact with his former relatives and friends, wanting to gradually forget the experience.

On December 14 this year, the Yancheng police in Jiangsu Province found evidence that Mr. Zhang had been forced to participate in gambling fraud in the first company in the cracking of a wire fraud case, so the Yancheng police asked the Xiangcheng police for assistance. Kong Linghu, a police officer from the Anti-Fraud Center of the Xiangcheng Public Security Bureau, questioned Mr. Zhang, and this unspeakable experience surfaced.

In the face of this reluctant past, Mr. Zhang said that he would never be greedy for a small gain again, and would behave in a proper manner and do things in a down-to-earth manner in the future.
