Text/Ting's mother

Last week, the results of Tingting's school monthly exam came out, and Tingting was very happy to come back. I asked her why she was so happy, and she said, "Mom, I did well in this exam!"

If you do well in the exam, you should be encouraged!

Don't say "it doesn't matter if you don't do well in the test" if your child fails in the exam, smart parents do this and learn quickly

Since entering junior high school, Tingting's grades have not been satisfactory. After the test paper is sent out, I will work with her to analyze the wrong questions in the test paper and find out the reason. I will also try to deal with all the work during the day every day, and accompany Tingting to do homework and Xi at night. Sometimes I just sit next to her and read quietly, but when she doesn't understand, she can always ask me, and I will answer her in time. Therefore, Tingting's condition has been much better recently.

As parents, we all want our children to be in good health and do well in Xi. When a child does not do well in exams, many parents may instinctively comfort their children by saying that "it doesn't matter if they don't do well in the exams", but is this kind of comfort helpful? It may not work well and may even cause more stress to the child.

So, how should parents deal with their children's failed exams?

1. Test scores do not fully represent a child's full ability

We have to admit that every child has their own strengths and strengths, and exams are only one way to evaluate a child's ability, not the only way. We can't deny a child's ability just by passing a single test.

Therefore, when a child fails in the exam, we should not pay too much attention to the results themselves, but to pay attention to the problems and difficulties encountered by the child in the exam, and help the child find a solution to the problem.

Don't say "it doesn't matter if you don't do well in the test" if your child fails in the exam, smart parents do this and learn quickly

2. Encourage children to face failure

When children do not do well in exams, we should encourage them to face failure bravely, rather than simply comforting them by saying "it doesn't matter if they don't do well in exams".

At this time, you can tell your child: "I know you did your best, this exam is just a small episode, and you still have many opportunities to prove yourself." Such words can make children feel understood and supported, thus reducing their psychological stress.

3. Help your child find out the problem

We should help children find out why they are not doing well in exams, whether they have not mastered the Xi of studying well, or because they have not Xi adequately, or because of test anxiety.

Only by identifying the root cause of the problem can we solve the problem in a targeted manner.

Don't say "it doesn't matter if you don't do well in the test" if your child fails in the exam, smart parents do this and learn quickly

4. Provide appropriate assistance

If a child is having difficulty in learning Xi, we should provide appropriate assistance.

If your child encounters difficulties in the exam, you can help your child review the relevant knowledge points so that the child can better understand and master these knowledge points.

If the child is careless in the exam, it can help the child analyze the reasons and remind the child to pay attention to details in future Xi. It can also help them with their Xi plans, etc.

Of course, we should also pay attention to the way and degree of help should be moderate, and should not interfere too much with children's learning Xi, otherwise they may become dependent.

5. Establish the right values

We should help children develop the right values and make them understand that academic Xi grades, while important, are not the only measure of a person's worth. They should pay more attention to their all-round development, including the cultivation of knowledge, skills, character, etc.

We should give our children enough freedom and space to develop and explore their own interests.

When a child excels in a certain area, we can give them more support and encouragement, and we can also guide them to try different hobbies and activities, so that they can develop their abilities and qualities more comprehensively.

Don't say "it doesn't matter if you don't do well in the test" if your child fails in the exam, smart parents do this and learn quickly

Although temporary results do not mean anything, it does not mean that we can ignore children's academic Xi achievements. After all, academic performance Xi a child's ability to learn Xi, and it is also an important factor for their future education and employment.

I hope that every parent can become a smart parent and help their children cope with the challenges of school Xi and life in a scientific and reasonable way.
