In order to strengthen the protection and inheritance of cultural heritage in Nanjing and make cultural heritage a common "colorful future", the Nanjing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism has successively carried out the promotion and selection of excellent monuments and sites protection projects, the theme of "energy of urban ruins", the on-site observation of excellent monuments and sites, and the on-site teaching of Ding Feng tomb archaeology, and the city has carried out a total of 22 series of activities.
In the first Nanjing Excellent Monuments and Sites Protection Project Selection and Promotion Activity, all units actively declared, each district check recommended, from the past 5 years to complete the project, selected from the qualified, good to select the best, lasted more than 1 month, selected 22 shortlisted projects, in the shortlisted 22 projects finally selected 10 outstanding monuments and sites protection projects.
In recent years, Nanjing has adhered to systematic protection and continued to deepen the reform of cultural relics protection and utilization. It has successively formulated and promulgated local regulations and government rules such as the Regulations on the Protection of Famous Historical and Cultural Cities of Nanjing, the Regulations on the Protection of Nanjing City Walls, the Regulations on the Protection of Underground Cultural Relics in Nanjing, and the Measures for the Management of Cultural Relics and Building Repair Projects in Nanjing. Actively explore the understanding and understanding of Nanjing's historical and cultural status and new characteristics, and have achieved fruitful results in strengthening the protection of historical and cultural cities and the protection and utilization of cultural heritage.
During the "13th Five-Year Plan" period, Nanjing completed more than 200 projects for the protection of monuments and sites. It has completed more than 200 cultural protection projects such as the emergency maintenance project of the Small Peach Garden Section of the Nanjing City Wall, the maintenance of the Wuding Gate Section of the Nanjing City Wall, the repair and environmental improvement of the Drum Tower, the rescue and reinforcement of the former residence of Cheng Xianjia in the Qinhuai Residential Group, and the maintenance and protection of cultural relics of the Highway Bridge of the Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge. Among them, the Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge Highway Bridge Maintenance Project won the highest award of national cultural relics protection "National Excellent Monuments and Sites Protection Project".
