Meet Xing Bo and walk through the thorns hand in hand
In 1935, a family surnamed Gu who escaped the war gave birth to a daughter in a foreign country and named Gu Jianfen. His parents decided to return to China in 1941 and took Jianfen, who was still an infant, back to his hometown Dalian to live.
Since childhood, Jian Fen has shown a great interest in the arts, especially music. When he was 7 years old, a Japanese businessman sold a second-hand piano at a low price, and Jianfen saw that the opportunity had come and began to grind hard bubbles to his father.
In the end, the father was still moved by his daughter's persistent personality and bought the old piano that had been eliminated by the church. This second-hand item became Jianfen's guiding star to the temple of music, and she aspired to become a composer.
In 1952, Jianfen, who was admitted to the Northeast Conservatory of Music, devoted himself to his studies and Xi with ideals, and graduated with honors four years later and was assigned to work in the Central Song and Dance Troupe. Here, she met her bosom friend, Xing Bo, a dancer who was also an artist.
Appreciating each other and falling in love over time, the two decided to get married. However, a political movement branded Jianfen as an "alien", and she was sent to the countryside for labor reform, and the path of music creation was abruptly interrupted.
In the face of separation, Jianfen took the initiative to break up, for fear of affecting Xing Bo. Surprisingly, Xing Bo was desperate to grow old with Jianfen. After countless applications and waiting, the couple was finally approved by the organization in 1976 and officially entered the marriage hall.
Strive for self-improvement and build a stage for disciples
After 20 years, Jianfen finally regained her creative freedom and returned to her music career. While she was confident that she wanted to make a comeback, the conservative ideology and market environment of the 80s became another huge obstacle.
In the face of frequent criticism, Jianfen was not satisfied with defending herself, but took the initiative and decided to build her own platform to cultivate a group of musicians who believe in popular pop.
Fortunately, her husband, Xing Bo, gave the greatest support to his wife's decision. The husband and wife scraped together the funds to rent an unused factory in Beijing as a classroom. Subsequently, the news of the establishment of a vocal training class spread quickly in the industry.
The low tuition fee, which does not seek profits, attracts many young people with dreams to sign up. Jianfen did not let it go, but followed its own standards and selected only the 9 people with the most potential.
She also recruits excellent lecturers from teachers she knows well to ensure the quality of teaching. After just two years, the students who entered the music scene with the gold-lettered signboard of "Gu Jianfen Class" have frequently won trophies in large and small competitions, which has attracted the attention of the industry.
In the 90s of the last century, Jianfen's first batch of disciples have grown into a new generation of popular singers, shining brightly on the screen. They proved that pop music can have a profound impact just as well.
The road is blue, and it has established a re-established position
In the 80s after the reform and opening up, Jianfen re-emerged. She is no longer satisfied with proving herself, but aims to influence and help more people through her work. In 1989, when she had the opportunity to compose a song commemorating the 40th anniversary of the founding of Beijing, Jianfen gathered all her love for the city and completed "October is Your Birthday", which is still familiar to people today.
This song has a beautiful melody, not only singing the praises of Beijing, but also becoming a classic work for people to wish the motherland's birthday.
In 1990, Jianfen faced doubts and forged ahead, composing a number of magnificent episodes for the epic masterpiece "Romance of the Three Kingdoms". The unwavering dedication and love she showed for her musical career left all skeptics of female composers speechless.
In 1992, after Jianfen and her lover Xing Bo shared their heads, they quit their frontline jobs and turned to their families and students. In her opinion, through her own efforts, she has laid the foundation for winning the highest creative status in the music world, and it is time to pass on her disciples and cultivate new talents.

After entering old age, Jianfen was not satisfied. In 2004, she inadvertently discovered that today's children's song market is scarce, and most of them are still stuck in the works of the older generation, which has become out of touch with the times.
Aware of her responsibilities and mission as a musician, Jian Fen resolutely decided to create an original series of children's songs to truly entertain and educate. Since 2005, she has chosen beautiful classical poems and songs, and has successively completed "New School Song".
However, just as the 49th song was completed, Jianfen's optimism took a huge hit. Her husband Xing Bo and daughter passed away one after another in a short period of time, and she fell into unprecedented pain and confusion.
The passion for music fades, and life gradually loses its direction. But Jianfen quickly perked up, realizing that she had to complete the undertaking, which was her responsibility to the inheritance of Chinese culture, and a promise to her deceased loved ones.
In 2017, Jianfen finally completed the creation of all 50 children's songs, which untied her heart. This series of works was soon welcomed by all walks of life, and now it has been sung among generations of children, bringing the excellent Chinese cultural genes into a new era.
