On the afternoon of the 15th, snow began to appear on some road sections, and the highway department immediately dispatched personnel and machinery to carry out operations and spread anti-skid materials. At about 2 o'clock in the morning of the 16th, the snowfall increased, and there was obvious snow on the road. Xu Shiben, chief of the maintenance section of the Laishan Highway Center, said that from the 14th to receive the weather warning, the maintenance personnel paid close attention to the weather changes, the machinery was overhauled in advance, and was ready to throw anti-skid materials on the road at any time to prevent the road from icing. "Snow is an order, in order to do a good job in highway snow clearing and anti-skid prevention, our snow clearing and anti-skid commando team is assembled in advance to stand by, round-the-clock uninterrupted inspection, dynamically grasp the road situation, and ensure that the first time on the road to carry out snow clearing and anti-skid operations. On the basis of the principle of "prevention in advance and full preparation", the Yantai highway department fully implements the snow clearing method of "mechanical operation, supplemented by throwing anti-skid sand", and the snow clearing leading group commands and dispatches on the spot, according to the actual situation of the road section, reasonably allocates snow clearing machinery, and arranges special personnel to be responsible for the key sections and key parts of the national highways, urban entrances and exits with large traffic volumes, bridges, tunnels, curves, steep slopes, ramps, intersections, etc., to ensure the safety of vehicle traffic.
Yantai Highway Department now manages and maintains 1664.9 kilometers of ordinary national and provincial trunk roads, ranking in the forefront of the province. Li Tao, the maintenance department of the Municipal Highway Center, said that after receiving the snowfall notice issued by the meteorological department, more than 1,000 members of the Yantai Highway Snow Clearing and Anti-skid Commando took "snow" as the order, implemented the 24-hour duty and leadership system, debugged and overhauled the snow removal machinery in advance, and the snow clearing materials were fully reserved.
As of 8 o'clock on the 16th, a total of 220 patrol vehicles were dispatched, more than 700 personnel were dispatched, more than 510 sets of machinery and equipment such as snow shovels, roller brushes, graders, and spreading boxes were dispatched, and more than 1,100 tons of anti-skid materials were spread on key road sections.
