author:Uncle Ding said

Among the founding generals of New China, there were 12 one-armed generals, but the regimental commanders and political commissars in a regiment were all one-armed heroes, which is a very rare thing. However, in the 3rd detachment of the 120th Division of the Eighth Route Army, the detachment commander and political commissar were all one-armed heroes, and one lacked the right hand and the other lacked the left hand.

Today, Uncle Ding will tell you the story of this pair of one-armed heroes.

Let's talk about the head of the regiment first.

The head of the regiment is called He Bingyan.

The detachment leader and political commissar of the 120th detachment of the 3rd Division of the Eighth Route Army, both of whom were one-armed heroes, became the military and the United States

He Bingyan is a native of Songzi, Hubei, born in 1913, when he was 16 years old, he just led his troops to Songzi, he joined the revolutionary team of Mr. He with his father, because of his young age, he fed and fed military horses in the army at the beginning, and later worked as an orderly, and a year later transferred to the pistol team to become a Red Army soldier.

He Bingyan is known for his bravery in battle. Once, He Bingyan was the captain of the district at the Western Hunan and Hubei Military Academy. Lao Jiang sent the Sichuan army to attack the western Soviet area of Hunan and Hubei, and the cadets were also arranged on the battlefield, because the cadets had few guns, he gave his guns to the students around him, and he ran to the cooking class to get a kitchen knife and went into battle. On the battlefield, he took a kitchen knife and rushed into the enemy group, and after cutting several enemies who approached, he grabbed a gun and shot bravely. Seeing that the captain of the district was so brave, the trainees also became more and more courageous, and the Sichuan army was beaten with their heads in their hands.

After this battle, He Bingyan was not only rewarded by the military academy, but also had the reputation of "He Xiaolong".

Later, He Bingyan successively served as the captain of the pistol brigade of the Red 3rd Army, the head of the Xiangbei Independent Regiment, the commander of the 22nd, 25th, and 19th regiments of the Red 3rd Army, the head of the Yanhe Independent Regiment, the commander of the Qiandong Independent Division, and the commander of the 18th Regiment of the 6th Red Division.

Unfortunately, on December 22, 1935, He Bingyan, then the commander of the 5th Division of the 2nd Red Army, met two divisions of the enemy's Taoguang Column at Wawutang, and there was a fierce clash.

Later, in the Long March, He Bingyan, who lost his right arm, was still able to ride a horse and shoot guns, command battles, and gallop across the battlefield.

Let's talk about this commissar again.

Political commission shout Yu Qiuli.

The detachment leader and political commissar of the 120th detachment of the 3rd Division of the Eighth Route Army, both of whom were one-armed heroes, became the military and the United States

Yu Qiuli is a native of Ji'an, Jiangxi, born in 1914, one year younger than He Bingyan. Although Yu Qiuli was one year younger than He Bingyan, he participated in the revolution for the same time as He Bingyan, and he was only 15 years old when he joined the Red Army. After joining the Red Army, Yu Qiuli mainly engaged in ideological and political work, and when He Bingyan was the head of the 18th Red Regiment, Yu Qiuli served as the political commissar of the 18th Regiment.

When Yu Qiuli became a one-armed hero, it was after He Bingyan.

That year was 1936, when the Red Second Front Army marched to the Wumeng Mountains in Yunnan, Yu Qiuli was ordered to lead his troops to intercept the Kuomintang Wan Yaohuang troops, and was hit in the left arm by a volley of bullets from the enemy, and later broke his left arm again by the enemy's machine gun bullets in the battle.

Two one-armed heroes, it is a rare thing to come together. However, they just came together.

The two "number one" make up the number one force

In August 1937, in order to resist Japan, the Red Army was reorganized into the Eighth Route Army, the Red Second and Sixth Army Corps were reorganized into the 120th Division of the Eighth Route Army, and the division of He Bingyan and Yu Qiuli was reorganized into the 716th Regiment to carry out guerrilla warfare in Jizhong. In the second year, the 120th Division of the Eighth Route Army decided to use the Red 18th Regiment as the backbone to form a third detachment with He Bingyan as the commander of the detachment and Yu Qiuli as the political commissar.

Under the leadership of the two one-armed heroes, they fought against Banjiawo in the first battle, knocked the Japanese army with a stick, Zhu Zhankui in the second battle, slapped the bandits, fought Chai Enbo in the third battle, and quelled the traitor rebellion......

It wasn't until 1940 that He Bingyan was transferred to Yan'an Military Academy to study Xi, and the pair of one-armed heroes separated.

Later, during the Liberation War, He Bingyan became the commander of the 1st Army, Yu Qiuli did not keep up with him, and he only served as the political commissar of the 1st Division in the 1st Army.
