Zhaoxin KX-7000 released: 3.7GHz, 8 cores and 8 threads, performance or close to the 10th generation Core 6 core!

Recently, Zhaoxin, a domestic X86 CPU manufacturer, officially released a new generation of KX-7000 series processors for the high-end PC market, which has increased performance by 2 times compared with the previous generation of processors.

According to the exposed information, the KX-7000 series has two versions, both of which are based on the self-designed X86 Century Avenue microkernel architecture, integrating 8 cores and 8 threads, mainly due to differences in frequency, one is clocked at 3.2GHz (turbo frequency is 3.7 GHz), and the other is at 3.0GHz (turbo frequency is 3.6GHz). Both versions of the chip have 4MB of L2 cache and 32MB of L3 cache.

Officially, KX-7000's CPU can work at a maximum frequency of 3.7GHz, once again refreshing the domestic self-developed processor mass production frequency record, and the performance has been increased by 2 times compared with the previous generation of products, fully meeting the requirements of processor performance for daily office, audio-visual entertainment and industry applications.

At the same time, the KX-7000 series also integrates a high-performance iGPU (C-1190), supports the latest APIs, such as DirectX12, OpenCL 1.2 and OpenGL 4.6, H.265 HEVC/H.264 AVC, supports dual-channel 4K, and delivers 4x the graphics performance of the previous generation desktop products. At the same time, it supports DisplayPort, HDMI and VGA outputs to meet the needs of ultra-high-definition video and audio playback, image processing and other applications.

In addition, the KX-7000 series processors adopt the chiplet interconnection architecture independently developed by Zhaoxin - ZDI 4.0, which integrates CPU Die and IO Die in one processor chip, which can realize one die for multiple purposes, accelerate the iteration speed of Zhaoxin's independent processors, and effectively reduce R&D costs.

The KX-7000 series processors have also been fully upgraded with IO interfaces, supporting up to dual-channel DDR5-4800 memory with a capacity of up to 128GB. At the same time, it supports up to 24x PCIe 4.0, 2x USB4+ 4x USB 3.2 Gen2 + 2x USB 2.0, 3x SATA Gen3 and other international mainstream high-speed interfaces, which can meet the application and expansion needs of most markets.

Thanks to the compatibility of the KX-7000 series with mainstream x86 32/64-bit instructions, and supports AVX2 extended instructions, SM2, SM3 and SM4 national cryptography algorithm acceleration instructions, and supports processor and IO virtualization technology, it can support mainstream operating systems such as Windows and Linux, with excellent software and hardware compatibility, and can easily adapt to most of the application software, cloud platforms, development tools, peripherals and other products on the market.

According to Zhaoxin's chief engineer Wang Weilin, the performance target of KX-7000 is to reach the level of AMD in the same period, so their target CPU is at least Zen2 level.

According to the test data exposed by netizens, the CPU-Z single-core performance of the KX-7000 series processor is about 400 points, which is about 75% of the same 8-core and 8-thread Intel Core i7-9700K (about 530 points), which is about 83% of the 6-core and 12-thread Intel Core i7-10750H (about 480 points), and 80% of the Intel Core i3-10100 (about 500 points) with a 3.5GHz main frequency of 4 cores and 8 threads on the market in 2020 , slightly higher than the 6-core and 12-thread AMD R5-1600 (about 390 points), multi-core performance is about 3000 points, which is about 70% of the Intel Core i7-9700K (about 4200 points), about 87% of the Intel Core i7-10750H (about 3450 points), 1.16 times that of the Intel Core i3-10100 (about 2580 points), and about 95% of the AMD R5-1600 (about 3160 points).

In addition, the SPECint_base 2006 single-core fixed-point score of the KX-7000 series processor is 44.3 points, which is slightly higher than the Loongson 3A6000 processor (43.1 points) released by Loongson Zhongke based on its self-developed LoongArch instruction set architecture, and higher than the Intel Core i3-10100 (43.6 points).

Zhaoxin KX-7000 released: 3.7GHz, 8 cores and 8 threads, performance or close to the 10th generation Core 6 core!

In summary, the performance of the KX-7000 series has surpassed Intel's 10th Gen Core Quad-Core (i3-10100), is comparable to the 6-core AMD Zen+ core (R5-1600), and is close to the Intel 10th Gen Core 6-core (i7-10750H).

Zhaoxin said that up to now, domestic mainstream machine manufacturers, including Lenovo Kaitian, Tongfang, Ziguang, Shengteng, Lianhe Donghai, etc., have developed a new generation of desktop products based on Kaixian KX-7000 series processors, covering a variety of specifications, supporting domestic operating systems such as UnionTech, Kirin, and Zhongke Fangde, which can provide stronger performance support and more comprehensive functional experience for government office, financial counters, call centers, smart education, professional design and other applications. A new generation of laptops, embedded computers and other products for mobile office, industrial computing and other scenarios will be launched in the first half of next year.
