It looks like "XXXS" is starting to catch on again, at least in Toronto's real estate market. Despite its slender exterior, the two-bedroom, three-bathroom semi-detached home actually has 1,100 square feet of living space, not counting the basement that has already been completed.

In addition to the unusual layout, the home features several notable features, such as a metal spiral staircase, a freestanding soaking tub, and plenty of windows that let in natural light.

The non-traditional home was previously sold for $710,000 in 2017, below the asking price of $788,800. In July 2023, the home was again listed for sale for $1,090,000, however, the home has gradually fallen in value by thousands of dollars over the past few months due to the absence of any buyers.

The space was last listed for sale on Nov. 13 for $995,000, though the listing has since been suspended.

While some people believe that this space may be a great option for short-term stays on Airbnb, others believe that the size of the space is simply not enough to justify its multi-million dollar price.

"I gotta say, for an 8-foot-wide space, it actually feels pretty big, very open, and there's a lot of interesting space where you can find yourself. It's not like a bowling alley like I thought it would be, there's movement, there's fluid space, there's open staircases, and all the bright windows really help add to that feeling, like it's a bigger space," Costello explains.

"The only problem is that I may have hit my head on one of the walks upstairs, but that's okay. Because at the end of the day, it's a really nice space, and at less than a million dollars in the city, it's so fun and unique. ”

The interior width of the rooms ranges from 6 feet 2 inches on the lower level to 7 feet 7 inches in the master bedroom. While these dimensions can be difficult for many to understand, Costello says its width shouldn't be a hindrance. But, is that really the case?

But there's no denying that its price tag is still well below some of the house prices we've seen in the Greater Toronto Area.

According to a recent report by Zoocasa, the average selling price of a home in Toronto in September was around $1,119,452, which makes this cramped home much cheaper than the average home in the city
