A few days ago, the newly established Education, Sports and Health Bureau of Yantai Development Zone held a 2019 work planning meeting, at which Quan Zhendong, secretary of the Party Committee and director of the Education, Sports and Health Bureau of the Development Zone, made specific plans for the new year.
According to reports, with the rapid economic and social development and urbanization process of the development zone, the urban population has shown a trend of faster growth and greater growth, which can only be seen from the number of students enrolled. The number of students in the compulsory education section of the whole district increased by an average of 3,000 in the three years before 2018, and it is conservatively estimated that the annual increase in 2019 will be about 4,500; the enrollment of the first year of high school in 2018 is 1,100, and it is expected to exceed 2,000 by 2022 and 3,000 in 2027, basically 1,000 new every five years.
Urban expansion and population growth have put forward both quantitative and qualitative demands and rigid demands on education, medical care, and health resources, which must be effectively met and solved. The first is to expand the supply of resources to meet the rapidly expanding people's livelihood needs in the process of urbanization. On the one hand, we should continue to expand the supply of high-quality educational resources. Further adjust and optimize the layout and structure of education development in the whole district, pay close attention to completing the layout plan for the next five years, and do a good job in the top-level design of school planning and construction. In 2019, we will complete the expansion project of 2 new schools and the first primary school of the eighth middle school and the second primary school of the ancient and modern, adding 4,000 new degrees; start the construction of the 11th, 12th and 13th primary schools, and do a good job in the preliminary work of the new construction projects of Chaoshui Middle School and Central Primary School; accelerate the construction of comprehensive practice schools to achieve intensive utilization of comprehensive practice education resources; complete the preliminary work such as the feasibility report and planning site selection of the second high school, start construction in 2020, officially put into use in 2022, and complete and put into use the third senior high school in 2027. Implement the third preschool education action plan, and build at least 4 new kindergartens by 2020 to ensure the demand for new places.
