It is rumored that Tesla's FSD full self-driving is about to enter China, sources: everything is ready
IT Home reported on November 19 that Tesla's FSD has been perfected in North America, and it is expected that the upcoming V12 version will bid farewell to the "Beta" and begin to penetrate into a wider range of consumer groups than in China. Musk also revealed earlier this week that FSD V12 will be available for trial "in about 2 weeks".
According to aerial photography blogger @WuWa, FSD is already "all set" in the Chinese market, but Tesla has not officially announced the news.

At the same time, @Teslascope found that Tesla has begun providing user manuals with information on the FSD beta version for new owners in Europe, China, and Australia, suggesting that the Tesla may be preparing to gradually roll out the system outside of North America.
Tesla states in the owner's manual: "Depending on the region, vehicle configuration, options purchased, and software version, your vehicle may not be equipped with FSD Beta (also known as City Street Self-Driving), or the feature may not operate as accurately as described." ”
As the FSD Beta deployment expands, Tesla will gradually offer the feature to eligible customers in select countries and regions outside of the U.S. and Canada.
The company also noted that the FSD Beta is a feature that "requires you to keep an eye on the road at all times" rather than providing a higher level of autonomous driving features that allow drivers to do whatever they want on the road.
As each country has unique infrastructure, driving behaviors, and traffic patterns that the FSD Beta needs to adapt to over time, it is crucial for drivers using the FSD Beta in the newly eligible country regions to be extra focused and overly cautious. You must always be ready to take over safely.
Last month, Tesla's FSD Beta program traveled a cumulative 500 million miles, surpassing the 12th version of the system, which the company is about to release in North America, and according to CEO Elon Musk, the system will no longer be in beta. It's unclear exactly when it will be released, but it's expected to be available soon.
Last week, Musk appeared to say in a joke with self-awareness that customers might be able to try FSD version 12 "in about two weeks." This appears to be a self-deprecation for Tesla's failure to comply with the rollout deadline and his previous repeated claims that the software will be released in just two weeks.
Earlier this year, some users spotted that Tesla was conducting a small-scale pilot of FSD Beta in Australia and Europe.
In addition, since the beginning of this year, Tesla China has been increasing its recruitment efforts in this area, all of which shows that Tesla is preparing for the launch of the FSD system in overseas markets.
Although Tesla has been testing outside of North America for years, Teslascope notes that FSD Beta still needs regulatory approval in many countries.
Tesla FSD, the name on Tesla's official website is "Full Self-Driving Capability". At the recent shareholders' meeting, FSD was once again the focus of discussion. With more than 500 million miles driven by Tesla FSD Beta users to date, FSD Beta is growing rapidly and will be 10 times safer than human drivers in the future.
Tesla's self-driving products can be divided into 3 categories, including AP, EAP, and FSD. Among them, AP is the most basic version, and EAP is to enhance assisted driving, adding functions such as smart phone summoning, automatic parking, and NOA, and these two categories of products can be used in China, the former is free, and the latter is 32,000 yuan.
The highest level of FSD is defined on the official website as "fully autonomous driving capability", and the main functions include navigation assistance (NOA), automatic lane change, automatic parking, intelligent summoning, traffic signal recognition, and automatic steering of urban roads (based on navigation routes).
The FSD beta version is currently only available in North America, with $15,000 in the United States (note: currently about 108,000 yuan) and $17,500 in Canada (currently about 126,000 yuan), but users can apply for a one-month trial.
Due to differences in policies and regulations, FSD has not yet entered the Chinese market. The Chinese market is currently Tesla's second largest market after the United States, and Tesla has already delivered hundreds of thousands of vehicles in China that can be upgraded to the FSD Beta, and if the FSD Beta is officially released in China, it will significantly increase Tesla's revenue.
On May 12 this year, Chen Kele, deputy director of the Intelligent Manufacturing Promotion Department of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology, introduced that in the next stage, Shanghai will further deepen cooperation with Tesla, promote the layout of autonomous driving, robots and other functional sectors in Shanghai, and jointly build a science and technology industry cluster with core technology advantages and facing the global market.
