The first product of BYD Formula Leopard - Leopard 5 will be launched today (November 9), the car will be launched in three models: Exploration Edition, Pilot Edition, and Yunyuan Edition, with an estimated price range of 30-380,000 yuan. The new car has been opened at the Chengdu Auto Show, with a price range of 30-400,000 yuan.
The overall shape of the Leopard 5 adopts the classic square design of off-road, with a tough style and great personality. The wrap-around LED daytime running lights are ingenious, with a powerful silver front impact guard, LED fog lamps on both sides, a stiffer plastic guard and a winch mounting position in the license plate frame.
The length, width and height of the Leopard 5 are 4890/1970/1920mm, respectively, and the wheelbase is 2800mm. It is reported that the body size has been carefully studied many times during the project to avoid being too long and easy to support the bottom, and too short to pass and load capacity will be limited.
The interior of the Leopard 5 adopts the latest design language, inspired by the "lock", the shape and function are cleverly combined, focusing on technology and refinement, equipped with a 12.3-inch main driver full LCD instrument, a 12.3-inch co-driver entertainment screen, and a 15.6-inch 2.5K central control screen.
The vehicle is wrapped in a large amount of leather, and provides three interior colors of eclipse blue, shoal green, and storm rice to choose from, with multi-color interior atmosphere lights, which shows a sense of atmosphere.
The center console is designed with a liftable gear shift lever, which rises when the vehicle is started and slowly falls back when closed. At the same time, the front of the gear lever provides up to 50W wireless fast charging. The lower part of the lever is a row of crystal transparent buttons, which is exquisite and practical.
In addition, the Leopard 5 also cooperates with the French high-end audio brand Devialet, and the vehicle is equipped with up to 18 Devialet speakers, with the main driver's headrest speakers. In order to further enhance the sense of luxury, the Leopard 5 also provides comfortable luxury configurations such as an on-board refrigerator and an active fragrance system.
In terms of safety features, the new model is equipped with an AR head-up display (AR-HUD), front driver airbags, front passenger front airbags, front driver knee airbags, front seat side airbags, rear left side airbags, rear right seat front airbags, and front and rear side curtains.
As for the power performance, the Leopard 5 adopts a non-load-bearing body and is equipped with a new DMO hybrid system, which is composed of a longitudinal 1.5T high-efficiency hybrid engine and front and rear dual motors, of which the 1.5T engine has a maximum power of 143 kilowatts and a maximum torque of 274 Nm;
The maximum power of the front and rear dual motors is 200 kW and 285 kW, the maximum torque is 360 Nm and 400 Nm respectively, and the comprehensive maximum power of the whole power system is 505 kW and the comprehensive maximum torque is 760 Nm.
The Leopard 5 accelerates to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds, has a top speed of 180 km/h, and has a CLTC all-electric range of 125 km/h. In terms of charging, the Leopard 5 provides 6 kW AC charging and 100 kW DC charging, as well as 6KW (AC V2L) and 6KW (AC V2V) for vehicle-to-vehicle discharge.
