As we all know, today, even if the national highway toll station has achieved full coverage of ETC, many car owners have also gone to the bank for free and installed ETC equipment, so that when driving in and out of the high-speed toll gate, the ETC gantry system can be automatically deducted, and the owner does not need to stop to change the card and pay the fee, which is indeed a lot of worry. However, car owners need to pay attention to the fact that once the ETC is installed in the car, it cannot be removed again, otherwise it will directly fail and cannot be used.
So why is this happening? Could it be that there is something wrong with this? Actually, there's nothing greasy, and here's how it works: I don't know if we noticed the back of the ETC device when installing it, that is, the side that fits snugly against the front windshield of the car, with a small button on it. It is naturally raised when it is not attached to the car, but when the ETC device is attached to the front windshield and pressed hard, the button is pressed into the inside of the ETC device, in other words, the ETC system is turned on. Then we can transmit the vehicle-related information to the ETC device via the Bluetooth of the mobile phone. Once the operation is complete, the device is successfully activated, and we can realize automatic toll payment when we drive on the highway.
So why does the ETC device fail when it is removed? That's because when the ETC device is out of contact with the glass, the small button on it pops up again, which is equivalent to turning off the ETC system, and the previously bound vehicle information and bank card information will be lost together, even if it is installed again, it will not work.
So why is the ETC device designed this way? In fact, there are many benefits to this.
1. It can protect the safety of the owner's funds.
An ETC device can only be used for the bound car, when the owner drives on the highway, through the gantry, the system will be deducted from the bank card bound by the owner, which can be said to be a special car. In this way, you can well protect the safety of the owner's funds, avoid the loss or theft of ETC equipment, resulting in the loss of funds, and the leakage of personal information.
2. Prevent ETC equipment from being borrowed from each other.
If the ETC equipment can be disassembled at will, then there will be some relatives and friends who come to the owner to borrow ETC, then all the high-speed costs will have to be borne by the owner alone? Even if some people will return the withheld fees to the car owner, there will be some disputes and unpleasant things due to some other factors, after all, there are many people who love to be cheap. For car owners, it can be said that kindness is not rewarded, and it adds a bunch of unnecessary troubles.
So if it is dismantled for some objective reason, is there a way to reinstall it and use it normally?
The answer is: Yes!
However, the owner cannot install and activate the ETC device by himself, and needs to bring the ETC equipment and the vehicle driving license, ID card and other relevant information to the bank service branch that issued the ETC device for reinstallation and activation. If it is not the owner of the car himself, he also needs to provide the owner's certificate and authorization certificate before proceeding.
The method of activation is to insert and unplug the ETC card twice in a row until the screen of the electronic tag shows "Bluetooth on". If the "tag invalid" is displayed when the electronic tag is not attached, it is a normal phenomenon and does not affect the activation. You can also directly press the button on the top of the electronic tag to turn on the Bluetooth function. Next, we need to turn on the Bluetooth of the mobile phone, open the corresponding mobile APP to enter the device activation interface, click on the device connection, and wait patiently for the prompt of "successful connection". After the connection is successful, upload a photo of the front face of the vehicle to complete the activation.
However, this is obviously more troublesome, so unless it is absolutely necessary, please be sure not to be clever and remove the ETC device for opportunistic purposes, which will bring you a lot of unnecessary trouble.
