There is no need to worry about the five types of lung nodules

Five types of lung nodules, don't worry about it being lung cancer. Many people equate lung nodules with lung cancer, stop scaring yourself. To tell you the truth, these five types of lung nodules are relaxed, and there is no need to worry about lung cancer.

Hello everyone, I am Zhang Xiaohui, chief physician of the Department of Respiratory Medicine. To find out these five types of lung nodules, it is enough to do what I said, and it is enough to have a physical examination once a year.

There is no need to worry about the five types of lung nodules

First, a completely calcified nodule. In the chest CT report of the physical examination, it is often seen that there is calcification in the lung nodules, and this calcification is often caused by some tuberculosis or benign lesions, and some calcifications appear after absorption. We don't have to worry about this, the calcifications on the lungs are basically benign.

Second, nodules with a smaller diameter. Lung cancer cells cannot grow smaller on their own, and even anti-infective therapy will not make them smaller. So if you find that the nodule has become smaller on a follow-up examination, you should basically consider the possibility of inflammation.

Third, quiescent nodules. To put it in layman's terms, the nodule has not changed much over the years. For example, after five years, we checked the CT of the lungs, and there was basically no change in the nodules, whether it was size or growth rate. It is very rare for such nodules to prove malignant.

Fourth, lung nodules that grow at an outrageous rate. Nodules can double in a week, and they can basically be ruled out as malignant. Because lung cancer cells start from malignant transformation and grow into visible nodules, it takes more than half a year to say the least, and freezing three feet is not a day's cold. Therefore, most of the nodules that grow too fast in a short period of time are caused by lung infections, so we don't have to worry about this.

Fifth, a large cluster of nodules is clustered together. Most of this condition is not lung cancer, which usually grows together and does not fall apart. This is usually a large nodule with several small nodules around it, and we call this a satellite lesion, and this is a high probability of infection.
