PART 01 Set sail
I once saw a theory that for fresh graduates, the best job has two dimensions to measure, the first is called mobility, the word translates to the mobility of work, which refers to whether a job allows you to sit in the office and write copywriting every day, or can it provide you with the opportunity to run around, visit different companies, and meet different people; Another measure is exposure, which refers to whether the job provides you with access to people at different levels. Consulting is a job that can take into account both of these benchmarks. Doing consulting can not only experience many different industries, can be cutting-edge Internet, can also be digging coal mines; And you can contact all kinds of people, entrepreneurs with a net worth of tens of billions, and children who need help from charity projects, giving people a surging sense that they can go to the moon for nine days and catch turtles in the five oceans.
Personally, like most of my peers, I was caught up in the flood of job searches, struggling with different lines of tests and code question banks, and one day I suddenly realized that I seemed to be turning into an emotionless problem-solving machine, so I began to think about my original intention. Looking back on my past experiences, I find that there are two sources of my sense of achievement. One is the challenge to learn new things and apply them in a limited time, such as learning a code software to do modeling and data analysis; The other is to help others answer their questions, with the goal of simplifying the complex. Counseling is the perfect combination of these two things.
Stepping into the door of consulting with the imagination of the consulting industry from "The First Half of My Life", to this day, I have really experienced the consulting industry for three months, and I am honored to have the opportunity to share my consulting work experience with you.
PART 02 Accumulate a spoonful to become a river, and accumulate fine dust to lofty the extreme
During the second round of interviews during the research phase, I was given the opportunity to lead several interviews. In the first interview, when I was about to record the purpose of the interview, I heard a fancy praise of the interviewee's company, and I realized that something was wrong, and began to understand the company's existing problems through specific questions, and the response was a shocked look and a sentence of "Is this something that can be said?" ”。 This interview made me realize that I was inadequate in introducing the purpose of the interview and did not state the anonymity and confidentiality of the interview in a timely manner. Although this question no longer appears in the follow-up interviews, it always stays at the level of questions and answers, and it is difficult to have a real communication like my teachers and colleagues, and can dig deeper into the essence of the question. However, I believe that with my teachers and colleagues in the forefront, coupled with my continuous learning and work experience, my interview skills will definitely make a qualitative leap.
If I have to recall the most rewarding moment in my recent past, it is that in the middle of the market insight stage, the customer side felt that they had no idea what to add, and seeing that they had been working on this for many days with little success, I always thought about how to help them, but I didn't have an idea for a while. Thinking about it like this, I remembered that they had done a detailed SWOT analysis form at the beginning (and had read it a few times at the time because I was shocked at the level of detail they had written), and there might have been a discovery, and when I opened it, it was true. So I helped them fill in the missing content and open their minds according to this forgotten form, and their marketing work was also affirmed at the first review meeting, and I felt happy from the bottom of my heart because of the timely and effective help I provided.
I think that this happiness and sense of accomplishment are inseparable from two points, one is the desire for knowledge and curiosity; The second is the accumulation of daily learning. Since I had very little exposure to market insights, I read them many times when I received them from them, so I was familiar with the content they had submitted at the beginning and provided timely assistance. I also noticed that my teachers also have a high level of skill in reading on a daily basis and applying what they read to their work at any time.
PART 03 The road ahead is long and bright, and every step is also driven
Although three months of working hours is not enough for me to have a comprehensive understanding of the lifestyle of counseling, what I see and feel may only be a glimpse of the leopard, but the glimpse is enough to attract me to explore forward.
Marie Skłodowska once said: "If you live according to your ideals, if you act in the spirit of integrity and freedom, with courage and perseverance, and with honesty and not self-deception, you will be able to achieve the highest state of perfection." I hope that after overcoming obstacles, I will gradually integrate counseling into my life.
Finally, I would like to encourage all the management trainees and colleagues who join the Best family now and in the future, I have struggled with overwhelming interview notes, I have been stuck in a lot of jargon conversations and anxiety all night, and I have wondered if my past success is more due to luck than my own efforts.
What I want to say here is: first of all, maintain a positive attitude, and being able to enter Best is an affirmation of one's own ability and let go of self-doubt. Kenichi Ohmae said in "The Technique of Thinking": "The biggest difference between those who can make breakthroughs with a positive attitude and those who can't is that when they are faced with problems they have never experienced before, they choose to bypass the problems or bravely meet the challenges, after all, no one in this world is born to find the path to success." ”; Secondly, no matter how many interview minutes there are, it is not endless, don't be intimidated by the quantity, who can make perfect will do faster and better; As for unfamiliar knowledge and jargon, let go of the fear of difficulties, don't be a slave to your own thoughts and emotions, focus on the problem itself, and as long as you open your mouth, everyone will be happy to help.

"Cognitive Awakening" mentions that the first step in the pilot's operation manual for handling special situations in the air is almost the same: report to the tower commander. I'm also curious about why, in an emergency, the pilot doesn't concentrate on the special situation first, but reports to the commander first? Isn't that a waste of time? It turns out that when there is a special situation, the pilot's attention will be captured by the great danger, the mental bandwidth will be reduced, and it is easy to fall into a single perspective, and at this time, the commander can provide the pilot with an effective external perspective to help them better deal with the special situation. In the same way, when we are puzzled by emotional problems or work problems, we should not be bored alone, but learn to take the initiative to seek external help and use the multi-dimensional perspectives of others to overcome the limitations of our own single perspective. To borrow a phrase from Professor Dumbledore in Harry Potter, "Help shall always be given at Hogwarts, to those who ask for it."
在这里,Help shall always be given at Best, to those who ask for it.
