Every nation will emerge with perseverance heroes, and everyone should respect and worship these heroes, because they are the pride of the country and our role models. You may have seen the movie "Children of Heroes", in which there is a line that brings tears to your eyes: "For victory, shoot at me!" This sentence came from the mouth of Wang Cheng, a volunteer soldier. Today, we would like to introduce you to one of Russia's real-life "heroes" - Alexander Prokhorenko.
Prokhorenko was born into a family of soldiers, and after rigorous training at a military school, he became a member of the Russian special forces. In 2016, he was sent on a mission to the Palmyra region of Syria. His task is to penetrate deep into the IS control zone, identify key strike targets, and communicate these coordinates to the Russian Air Force. But unexpectedly, Prokhorenko was surrounded by a large number of IS forces after going deep into the tiger's den.
Prokhorenko was a hero of a fighting nation, he was undaunted, and fought fiercely against many enemies, killing many of them. However, it was difficult to defeat the enemy in a single battle, and Prokhorenko, who was in a dangerous situation, did not want to be captured. He asked the command to send warplanes to carry out air strikes on the hiding place where he was located. On his deathbed, he uttered the tragic words: "I want to die with dignity, let these bastards die with me." I am a Russian military man and cannot tolerate insults to my uniform. I love my motherland deeply, and I will fight until the last moment to protect it. Please tell my family that I love them and please take good care of them. ”
Command complied with his request and allowed him to die with dignity. In the end, Prokhorenko died with the enemy at the age of 25. It is particularly sad that just over a year ago, he had just been married and his wife, Catherine, was pregnant. In order not to worry his wife, he told her that he was sent to the Caucasus, and his wife was completely unaware that he had gone deep into the dangerous situation of IS.
Prokhorenko is an army lieutenant at the age of 25. His sacrifice caused grief throughout Russia, and all Russians mourned the hero. Russian President Vladimir Putin personally met with his family and posthumously awarded him the medal "Hero of Russia". In order to bring Prokhorenko's body back to his homeland, Russia released 6 IS prisoners. His remains were buried in a village in Orenburg.
Although the hero died, his spirit lives on. In honor of Prokhorenko, Italy spent 7 million to make a 2-meter-high statue that shows the Russian hero leaning on a boulder, looking up at the sky with the muzzle of a gun pointed at the sky. This proves that heroism transcends national borders, and that a country can have a better future if it respects its heroes.
