In the 80s of the 20th century, the Kokang Allied Army rearmed itself and began a military confrontation with the Burmese government. During this period, the Kokang Allied Army achieved several military victories and expanded its influence in the Kokang region.
In the 90s of the 20th century, the Kokang Allied Army began to gradually transform into a political organization. They participated in several rounds of peace negotiations with the Burmese government, culminating in an armistice agreement with the Burmese government in 1994. Under the agreement, the Kokang Allied Forces were allowed to maintain a local armed force in the Kokang region, while enjoying some political rights.
Despite the armistice agreement reached in 1994, the conflict between the Kokang Allied Forces and the Burmese government has not fully ended. On a number of occasions, armed conflict has resumed between the two sides.
On August 8, 2009, Peng Jiasheng was mutinied by his subordinates Bai Socheng and Wei Chaoren, that is, the four major families who are now engaged in electronic fraud, and united with the Myanmar military government to drive Peng Jiasheng out of Kokang.
On October 27, 2023, his son returned to Lao Cai with the allied forces.
At this moment, the war in Qingshuihe, Mujie, Laojie and other places is still in a stalemate.
