This chip is the world's first to be made using a 3nm manufacturing process, which is also TSMC's most advanced semiconductor manufacturing technology.
The basic version of M3 has an 8-core CPU, a 10-core GPU, and up to 24GB of unified memory, and its performance is about 35% higher than that of M1. The M3 Pro has a 12-core CPU, an 18-core GPU and a maximum of 36GB of unified memory, which is about 20% higher than the previous generation M2. The M3 Max has a 16-core CPU, a 40-core GPU, and up to 128GB of unified memory, which improves performance by more than 80% compared to the M1.
