According to the Cambodia-China Times, there was a kidnapping case in Cambodia where two Chinese men kidnapped compatriots and attempted to extort millions of dollars. Fortunately, the police received a report from the public and took decisive action to rescue the kidnapped victims.
The incident happened in Westport, Cambodia, where two kidnappers kidnapped a Chinese compatriot on the street on the 13th, detained him in a car, and tried to extort $1 million. Enthusiastic local people discovered the case and reported it to the police, who immediately launched a law enforcement operation and quickly pursued the suspect vehicle.
During a fierce chase, the suspect vehicle collided with the motorcycle, resulting in injuries to the motorcycle rider. The kidnappers then tried to flee to the largest local wet market, but lost control again on the road, crashed into a car, and were eventually stopped by police. Two kidnappers got out of the car and fled, one armed with a firearm and the other with a knife.
The police conducted a fierce pursuit and succeeded in apprehending the suspect with the gun, but the suspect with the knife resisted arrest and attacked the police, resulting in the police having to shoot him, wounding him in the left leg and subsequently taking him to the hospital for treatment.
During the crackdown, the police seized a white Mercedes car, a K59 pistol, a sharp knife, two mobile phones, two passports, watches, ropes and other items. The abducted Chinese man suffered serious injuries, particularly in the neck, and is currently being treated in hospital.
The incident once again underscores the importance of the police being resolute in enforcing the law to ensure that criminals do not go unpunished, and underscores the critical role of cooperation from all sectors of society, especially from the public, in the fight against crime.
