"Hollywood Reporter" reported: Chinese mainland selected "The Wandering Earth 2" to compete for the "Best International Film" award at this year's Oscars.
The film is directed by Guo Fan, starring Wu Jing, Li Xuejian, Sha Yi, Ning Li, Wang Zhi, Zhu Yan Manzi, Andy Lau, etc., focusing on the "Mountain Moving Plan" introduced under the crisis to push the earth away from the solar system.
"The Wandering Earth 2" was released in the mainland during the Spring Festival this year, and at the same time in North America and other places, it won a mainland box office of 4.029 billion yuan and a global box office of 598 million US dollars.
Since 1979, China has nominated more than 20 films for the Oscars, two of which have been nominated. Both works were directed by Zhang Yimou. Chinese films have yet to win an Oscar in the international feature film category.
