Wang Xinting was born on December 23, 1908, in a remote mountain village in Hubei Province, and although his family was extremely poor, his parents sent him to private school to study.
In 1930, with the support of his family, Wang Xinting joined Xu Qianqian as deputy commander of the First Division of the First Army of the Red Army, Yu and Anhui, and participated in the ensuing battles with the troops.
Due to the rich knowledge reserve, Wang Xinting was also favored by the then regiment commander Ni Zhiliang, and transferred him to the company as an instructor, for this job, Wang Xinting also attached great importance to it, he diligently handled many tasks in the party, but this also caused his myopia to become more and more serious, so that later he was completely inseparable from glasses.
In 1933, because of his excellent work, Wang Xinting was again entrusted with the important task of serving as the director of the Political Department of the Red 9th Army, but by this time he was also short-sighted to the extent that he could not see anything clearly without glasses.
On this day, Wang Xinting's glasses accidentally fell on the ground and broke them during the march, making him see everything very blurry, and he could only walk on crutches, coupled with the difficult situation at that time, he could not help him find new glasses for a while, so Chen Geng often used this point to make jokes about Wang Xinting when taking care of him.

"Thin man" Zhou Xihan
If Wang Xinting is known as "Living Zhuge Liang", then Zhou Xihan, who was nicknamed "Thin Man" by Chen Geng, is a proper "Living Zhao Zilong".
Zhou Xihan was born in 1913, like Wang Xinting, in a remote mountain village in Hubei Province, because Zhou's father was in his forties to get a son, so he was also very fond of Zhou Xihan, hoping that he could grow up early to continue the incense for the Zhou family.
However, the young Zhou Xihan was very rebellious, and at the age of 14 he participated in the Jute Uprising with others and devoted himself to the great revolutionary cause, and later returned to his hometown, his father arranged a marriage for him, so that he could work at home with peace of mind, but Zhou Xihan not only did not agree, but secretly flowed out on the night of the candlelight in the cave house to join the local workers' and peasants' Red Army.
In the subsequent march, Zhou Xihan was also favored by Xu Qianqian because of his pioneering and courageous courage in battle, because he was taller and his figure appeared thinner, so Zhou Xihan also got the nickname of "thin man".
In 1940, on the eve of the Hundred Regiments Campaign, Zhou Xihan was appointed commander of the left wing breaking team, and since the troops under his command at that time did not have political commissars and chief of staff, when Liu Bocheng and Deng Xiaoping went to the front to observe the battle situation, Deng Gong also specifically asked Zhou Xihan if a person could do it.

"Cripple" Chen Geng
Born in 1903, Chen Geng was born in Hubei to a family of generals, his grandfather was a general of the Xiang Army, and under the arrangement of his family, he studied in a private school in the village at the age of 6.
But for study, Chen Geng is obviously more yearning for serving the country and joining the army, and at the age of 13, he made up his mind to abandon his pen and enter the Xiang Army to start fighting, but years of conquest also made Chen Geng find that many people did not fight to save the country.
This also made Chen Geng feel frustrated and chose to leave the army where he had stayed for 5 years, but due to the lack of culture, he also encountered obstacles everywhere in his subsequent life, in order to find a way out, Chen Geng had to study while working, and also found time to actively participate in the anti-imperialist patriotic movement.
By chance, he entered the self-study university founded by Chairman Mao and had some contact with the rest of the revolutionary comrades, and in the process of exchanges, Chen Geng also began to take the initiative to participate in various revolutionary actions with our party, and later successfully became a member of the Communist Party and went to the Whampoa Military Academy to study.
Because of his enthusiastic and cheerful personality, Chen Geng also made many revolutionary people with lofty ideals in the Whampoa Military Academy, and was known as one of the "Three Masters of Whampoa" with his excellent results, and even saved Lao Jiang's life later, which also made Lao Jiang cherish his talent and wanted to take the opportunity to win him over, but was directly rejected by Chen Geng.
In 1927, the Nanchang Uprising broke out, Chen Geng also showed great heroism in the battle, and made a lot of credit, but this also caused his left knee to be seriously injured and his ankle bone was also broken, but he moved to a nearby field ditch and covered himself in blood, only to avoid the enemy's follow-up sweep, but this also caused her leg to fall into a stubborn disease, and it was never cured later.
In a battle in the Hubei-Yuwan base area in 1932, Chen Geng's right calf bone was also hit by an enemy bullet, and he was left with a leg disease again, and the injury of both legs also made Chen Geng have to carry out on crutches in the subsequent walk.
In addition, Chen Geng was in a high position at that time, so when he went to various battlefields to command and participate in battles, many people jokingly called him "Chen Cripple", but although his legs were sick, this did not affect Chen Geng's combat talent, and under his careful deployment, our army also beat the enemy army one after another.
In the Battle of Xiangchenggu in 1939, Chen Geng led the 386 Brigade to survey the terrain in advance, and then adopted favorable strategic measures and ambush operations according to the terrain, annihilating an entire Japanese army unit with a minimal loss, creating an excellent example of plain annihilation of the enemy.
Because Chen Geng, Wang Xinting and Zhou Xihan had the nicknames of "cripple", "blind" and "thin man" in the team, and were also one of the leaders of the 386 Brigade, the 386 Brigade also had the title of "three sub-troops".
For his outstanding performance during the war, Chen Geng was also awarded the rank of founding general at the Grand Medal Ceremony in 1955, but sadly, due to the accumulation of old diseases and overwork during the victory period, Chen Geng's physical condition gradually declined.
In order to continue to work on the front line, Cheng Qiang took the initiative to apply for a return to the post due to the severe myocardial infarction, his chest often ached, whenever this time, Chen Geng would touch his chest while working, for a long time, even his shirt was worn out a large piece.
On March 16, 1961, Chen Geng passed away because of the third large-scale myocardial infarction, and the day before his death, he was still thinking about his "Summary of Combat Experience", hoping that the experience he accumulated during the war period would be passed on to future generations, but he only finished writing the beginning and left us forever...
