Original title: Last fiscal year's immigration results released|Domestic/foreign skilled immigrants have reached a new high! Accounting/IT/Nursing, who is the hottest immigration career? The most states with 491 are...
The Immigration Bureau released the results report of the 22-23 fiscal year immigration visa a few days ago, in addition to the most direct visa data, there is also a more detailed summary of each category, including occupation and region, etc., let's take a look.
Written in front:
All the data below is signed data, there will be a certain lag compared with the invited data, do not equate the signing situation with the invitation situation. If an applicant is invited and submits a visa in FY21-22 and then issued in FY22-23, it will be included in this report for FY22-23
Most of the data includes primary and secondary applications, unless otherwise indicated
A year of a small reshuffle in the places of origin of migrants
India and Chinese mainland are the first and second in the broken gear, just to say, India was a blowout last fiscal year, and the gap with us has widened. The United Kingdom, which had been in third place, fell to fifth, followed by the Philippines and Nepal by one place.
A year of simultaneous take-offs both domestically and overseas
From the figure below, we can see that the number of domestic skilled immigration visas submitted hit a 10-year high, reaching 92,694, compared with a previous peak of only about 75,000, and overseas is the highest since fiscal 18-19, close to 50,000.
This is due to the fact that the Labour Party has raised the quota of visas to 195,000 after coming to power, and has also benefited from the additional personnel sent to process applications.
All in all, because the two sides broke out together, in fact, the proportion of domestic and overseas accounts has not changed much. However, the very obvious of the three major categories is that regional (mainly 491) is the most realistic passage for overseas applicants, with about 43% of visas going to overseas applicants, and less than 30% for both 189 and 190. 186 Employer sponsorship is 24% overseas.
Accounting, Software Engineer, Nursing Who is the hottest immigration major?
Only the nominated occupations of the main application are counted
Again, this is FY22-23 signings, and there will be a lag compared to the invited data
189 independent skilled immigrants - absolute strength of nursing, Sanbao monopoly top three
The top accountants who used to be in the top 10 are no longer in the top ten, and because there were invitations last fiscal year, this fiscal year should be better
The accountant was swept up 491
Because the score is too rolled, more accountants choose to take PR491 in two steps, at least go ashore first, live and work with peace of mind.
In 190, programmers + accountants + civil engineering can break the wrist with nursing
186 employer-sponsored occupations are relatively average
Software and application staff occupy the first place with 1548 slight advantages, followed by nursing, third chef with 1103, accounting with 780, and ICT BA with 780
The backlog of three categories, headache
189
In the fiscal year, 49,109 new visa applications were submitted, 32,100 visas were issued (quota was exhausted), and the backlog at the end of the fiscal year was 28,625
190
For the full fiscal year, 61,186 new visa applications were submitted, 31,000 visas were issued (using up the quota), and the backlog at the end of the fiscal year was 49,735
491
In the fiscal year, 48,147 new visa applications were submitted, 26,707 visas were issued (plus 494 were basically exhausted of the quota for the regional category), and the backlog at the end of the fiscal year was 47,614
We got the FOI adjustment data just after the end of last fiscal year, so I won't go into details. After learning about the staggering number of submissions and backlogs in the three fiscal years of the previous fiscal year, I now feel the cascade effects of the follow-up, such as the reduction of state quotas, the absence of any news since 189, and the slowdown in visa processing.
30% 491 all go to South Australia?
The report also contains a brief summary of the different categories in the cantons
- 190 is not the most booked of any state
- NSW, Victoria and Western Australia, the largest category is 186 employer sponsorship
- Canberra, South Australia, Tasmania and the Northern Territory are all the most dependent on 491, with South Australia being the most "extreme" in numbers
- Queensland is the only 189 to place the number of signatures in all channels
In the Regional (491+494) category, 8,600 people chose South Australia as their intended place of settlement, more than one-quarter of the total, higher than NSW, Queensland and Western Australia. And 95% of them are 491 signers, 30% of the 491 signers who choose South Australia choose to settle in South Australia, and several other states rely on 494 to catch up.
As for how to investigate this intended place of settlement, it may be from the EOI preferred location within Australia, or it may be from the experience and settlement needs survey sent to the signer? Anyway, in the 22-23 and 21-22 financial years, South Australia's quota for 491 was lower than NSW, which was somewhat surprising.
The number of skilled/family visas assigned by state
There is a backlog of 140,000 parents immigrants
In the last fiscal year, many skilled immigrants were issued, and many parent immigrants were also promoted, so the number of new submissions increased by nearly 10,000. Then there is 8,500 signatures (which is also the number of approval quotas), compared to the 140,000 backlog in the column below, how small it is
GTI has three main areas
Last fiscal year, 5,000 quotas were used
1,345 were domestic applicants, 3,655 were overseas, with the most popular sectors being Digitech (28.5%), Health Industries (18.6%), Financial Services and FinTech (16.7%)
Immigrant Investor Visa (Subclass 188)
Last fiscal year, 5,000 quotas were also used, and 5,061 new submissions were made, reducing the backlog from 26,000 to 23,000. I don't know if the 188 waiting time is too long (and it is not permanent residence), and the withdrawal rate of investment immigration has reached 17%, which is more abrupt in various categories.
Of the streams, 188A is the most
Investment immigration class 188 and 888 visa are very slow, NSW has mentioned that this year's investment immigration 0 state quota is also because to clear the backlog, if 188 is affected by the quota, I hope that the immigration bureau will at least fulfill the promise of 888 to clear the backlog as soon as possible.
A thousand words, please sign quickly~
This report provides a more visual and nuanced picture of what a historic year we experienced in FY22-23. Quotas, new submissions, signatures and backlogs have skyrocketed~
In the last fiscal year, many people were invited relatively smoothly, even lucky surprises, but this year they have been stuck in the signing, and the gap in their hearts is relatively large. This is due to the environment, after all, an average of 434 people submit 189/190/491 every day...
