The old Jiaxing Town Xinxing Street Office is located at the east end of Meiwan Street, South Gate of Jiaxing Old Town, in the old residence of the Xu family, and the Xinxing Police Station is also together.
In the sixties and seventies, it was relocated to the south section of South Avenue.
At the beginning of June and September, when I went to the countryside to move my hukou, I went to the household registration police on South Street to handle it, and at the end of July and August, I returned to the city to make a living, and with the recruitment registration form of the labor bureau, I also turned the rural hukou into an urban hukou, moved into the urban household registration book, went to the grain bureau, the commercial bureau, etc., and received grain purchase certificates, briquette tickets, cloth tickets, grain stamps, and other tickets.
At that time, there were six streets under Jiaxing Town, police station, south gate piece: Xinxing street, north gate piece: Xinjia street, Jianshe street, east gate piece: dongmen street, Nanhu street, Jiefang street.
Out of the old town, east, south, west and north, are all administrative areas of the people's commune (township) of Jiaxing County. There are also Wangdian, Xincheng Town and so on.
Since the end of 1983, after the land was withdrawn to establish a city, the original Jiaxing County was divided into two and became an urban area and a suburb, that is, the current Nanhu District and Xiuzhou District. Recently, I saw the schematic map of the administrative area of Xinxing Street by my friend Mr. Ye Jia, and I learned about the new territory of Xinxing Street.
After six or seventy years of change, Xinxing Street moved to the southwest of Jiaxing, and today's countryside has also become a town. For example, Honghe People's Commune in Jiaxing County, where I once joined the queue, is now Honghe Town in Xiuzhou District.
It's really vicissitudes of time, changed the world.
