In a recent interview, director Tian Yusheng talked to the Hunan Daily New Hunan client reporter about the changes and unchanged of "The Predecessor" in the past ten years.

There are many movies with the theme of love, such as "Breakup Contract" and "33 Days of Broken Love", but with "ex" as the entrance and four movies made, only the "Ex" series. "In love" and "loved", the latter is generally felt to be more dramatic.
In Tian Yusheng's view, the angle of "ex" is very unique, but it is universal, and it is easier to open the emotional window of young people, so "Predecessor Raiders" came into being. Except for the second one, which was remade by purchasing the rights, the other three are original scripts.
What was the source of the creation of the "Predecessor" series? Why does it last 10 years? Tian Yusheng said, "It's all life."
The creative team of the "Predecessor" series is all original cast. Tian Yusheng said: "In the past ten years, some people have married, some people have changed their predecessors several times, and some people are still single. Everyone in the team has grown and changed, and their perception of life is different, and all the feelings added together form the prototype of the fourth script. ”
"When I was young, I cared if you loved me, whether I loved you or not, and how we should love now. The fourth part is not limited to love, but also friendship, and the other part is about getting along with myself, or thinking about what kind of person I want to be and what kind of life I want to live. Tian Yusheng added.
In "Predecessor 4: Teenage Marriage", Meng Yun (played by Han Geng) fell into "breakup sequelae" after experiencing many relationships, and while looking for true love on blind dates, he thought about "why do people get married". Among them, Meng Yun and the blind date lawyer Liu Liu (played by Liu Yase) conducted a philosophical and legal discussion around "the difference between love and marriage".
Tian Yusheng revealed, "I used to do preliminary work for "Chinese Judge" in Changsha, and I met many lawyers and judges, one of whom is called Liuliu, who told us what the relationship between marriage and love is, what is the difference, and she also longs for love very much, and Liu Liu was created based on her. We often think about love and marriage with emotional thinking, but rarely think about it from a rational legal perspective. ”

Why was the concept of "early marriage" proposed?
Tian Yusheng said that "young marriage" mainly refers to people who are not ready to face marriage at the psychological level. In the film, Yu Fei (played by Zheng Kai) and Ding Dian (played by Zeng Mengxue) have experienced three years of long-distance love and chose to enter the "marriage cooling-off period", which is to do psychological construction.
In the film, Ding Dian turned off the café to ask Yu Fei's advice, and Yu Fei said "you just decide", which caused Ding Dian to be extremely disappointed.
In this regard, Tian Yusheng analyzed: "Yu Fei respects Ding Dian on the surface, but the problem behind it is that he has not transformed 'I' into 'we', and has not regarded Ding Dian's career as a family career, but Ding Dian's thinking has quietly changed. ”

The two from competing to show to expose shortcomings, to indifference and quarrel, also reflect many problems among lovers: when passion fades and disguise no longer exists, how does love go far in firewood, rice, oil and salt?
Tian Yusheng did not directly say the standard answer in the film, but expressed another possibility of conflict handling through some small rituals of Yu Fei and Ding Dian.
"When two people quarrel, they all say that the other party is not good and that they are wronged. But the note in the cookie box reminded Yu Fei that Ding Dian had been quietly recording his good, and he usually forgot to record Ding Dian's goodness. He didn't want to repeat the mistakes of Meng Yun and Lin Jia, so he whistled downstairs to blow the song "Friendship Years" to save the little. Tian Yusheng said that many bridges and lines in the film are also inspired by friends around them, and life may need a sense of ritual similar to "cookie box" to neutralize boredom and contradiction, help each other recall each other's good, and remember the taste of love.
So, what should be the psychology of maturity in the face of marriage? "Post-80s" Tian Yusheng said frankly: "I'm only 40 years old, and I can't tell a single truth." ”
As of October 10, the box office of the movie "Predecessor 4: Marriage Young" is close to 800 million yuan, but compared with "Predecessor 3: Goodbye Ex", which won 1.941 billion yuan, the gap is not small.
