Regarding upgrading this version of Sonoma, it really made my intestines regret. The original resource version of the software was done, and even many applications downloaded from the App Store on Mac had crash problems, although several beta versions were upgraded later, and the results were the same.
Of course, the most unacceptable thing for me is that the "WonderShare filmora" cracked version of the editing software I bought before cannot be opened directly, and any source, software signature, xcode, etc. have come and gone, and even if the SIP system protection is turned off, it still cannot be opened.
In view of this embarrassing dilemma, and my years of experience flashing Apple notebooks, I searched the Internet for a circle of Mac mini downgrade schemes and began to downgrade.
And it was precisely because of laziness that I did not choose to use a U disk as a startup disk, but directly partitioned on the SSD as a startup disk, and as a result, the computer became bricked after just touching the hard disk.
What's more embarrassing is that after searching the Internet again, I learned that under this condition, another Apple computer must be used to do DFU flash recovery for Mac mini.
However, the version of my old Macbook Pro is only 10.13.6 (the maximum version limit that can be updated), and after Google downloaded the corresponding version of the "Apple Confidential 2" flashing software, I could not recognize the M1 machine.
At this time, I realized that it was definitely impossible to flash the machine with the device I had at hand, so I went to borrow an Apple notebook with an M1 chip, but it happened that when I unpacked the firmware package, I prompted that the device space was not enough.
Thinking of using an external hard drive to transfer part of the notebook's files first, turn back to it, but other people's computers... I had to give up!
Finally, I went to the Apple authorized store and spent 200 yuan to restore the system.
Although it was something that could be solved by doing it yourself, in the end it cost money to buy a lesson. However, some experience has been summed up here for small partners in need to avoid pitfalls.
First, some people on the Internet say that when flashing devices such as the Mac mini or Macbook series of M1/M2 chips, you must Intel or must be an Apple chip machine.
Because the after-sales in the store is a machine that flashes me with an iMac with an old Intel chip.
Second, it is said on the Internet that there must be a C port machine to give another M1/M2 device DFU flashing, in fact, USB-A port can also be, the old iMac after sales is all A port can still go through the entire flashing process.
Third, if you want to downgrade the M1 or M2 device that has been upgraded, "Apple Confidential 2" cannot be downgraded with the downloaded specified version of the firmware package, and do not partition the SSD as a boot disk like me, or honestly use the U disk as the boot disk is the safest, which is also the result of my verification in Apple's official after-sales service.
Finally, as for whether the version of MacOS Sonoma is worth trying early, I think we are all adults and do not need my advice.
