At present, the second comprehensive scientific expedition to Zhuo Aoyou Peak is being carried out at Zhuo Aoyou Peak, the sixth highest peak in the world and 8201 meters above sea level.

From the base camp of the Zhuo Ao Youfeng scientific expedition at 4950 meters to the 6450 meters along the Zhuo Ao Youfeng glacier, the members of the scientific research team of the Institute of Tibetan Plateau Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences collaborated to explore the survival and adaptation capacity of plants in extreme environments and their upper limit of distribution, reveal the changes of plant community structure and function at different altitudes, and hope to elucidate the succession mode and internal mechanism of plant communities after glacier retreat, so as to provide data support for predicting the response mode of alpine ecosystems under the future climate warming situation.

This is the first time that the mainland scientific expedition team has climbed a peak above 8,000 meters above sea level other than Mount Everest.
