According to the report, in August 2023, global shipments of large-size LCD TV panels were 19.7M pieces, down 2.7% year-on-year and 4% month-on-month; Shipment area was 14.1M square meters, up 11.7% year-over-year and down 3.8% month-on-month.

The further significant year-on-year increase in shipment area in the month illustrates the upgrade trend in average size. In August this year, the average size of LCD TV panels worldwide reached a new high, reaching 49.2 inches, an increase of 0.1 inches from July and an increase of 3.5 inches from the same period last year.

Since the development of TVs, although the average size is increasing, it still has not reached 50 inches, which many small partners did not expect. Some netizens said that the TV they bought 10 years ago was already 50 inches, and this time it did not lag behind.

In terms of TV panel manufacturers, the combined market share of the top three TV panel manufacturers in Chinese mainland was 67.7% in August. Taiwanese panel manufacturers Innolux and AUO accounted for 21% of the combined market. The combined market of Japanese and Korean panel factories accounted for 11.3%.

Among them, BOE (BOE) shipped about 4.8 million pieces in the month, ranking first, down 8.1% and 6.8% respectively year-on-year. 43 and 65 inches of the two main sizes, BOE shipments continue to lead; 75-inch shipments ranked first by a slight margin surpassing CSOT (Huaxing Optoelectronics). Consolidated shipments of large sizes of 55 inches and above increased by 37.4% year-on-year, and the internal share reached 49.8%, a significant increase of 16.5 percentage points from the same period last year and 5.7 percentage points from July.

CSOT (China Star Optoelectronics) shipped 4.2 million pieces in the month, continuing to increase sharply by 16.1% year-on-year, but down 4.7% month-on-month. Although the shipment volume of 55-inch products decreased month-on-month, it still maintained the world's first, 32-inch products once again surpassed BOE to win the first place, and the shipment of oversized 98-inch products led strongly, with an annual cumulative shipment market share of 74.2%.

HKC shipped about 3.15 million pieces in the month, down 7.3% and 11.7% year-on-year, respectively. Shipments of all sizes decreased. In terms of oversized size, the shipments of 85-inch and 100-inch products continued to rank first in the month, with the cumulative market share of 85-inch annual shipments reaching 31.3% and 100-inch annual cumulative market share reaching 75.8%.
