As reported in early August, Juve had offered to send Vlahovic to Chelsea in exchange for Romelu Lukaku, who wanted to leave. However, the two sides failed to reach an agreement and Romelu Lukaku ended up joining Roma on loan for one season.

In an interview with La Repubblica, Juentoli spoke publicly about his negotiations with the Blues. "Chelsea made an offer for Vlahovic. We don't want to sell Toussaint, but given a certain number, we'll take it," he said. 'Chelsea never reached that figure and Romelu Lukaku's exchange never happened.

Vlahovic got off to a great start to the new season, scoring four goals in six Serie A games for Juventus. The Bianconeri are currently fourth but could finish in the top three after a win away to Atalanta at the weekend.
