On October 1, a number of new energy vehicle companies announced the delivery of new vehicles in September 2023. From the data, the delivery volume of many car companies has shown a year-on-year growth trend.
In terms of new automakers, Li Auto still maintained a strong momentum, still ranking first in the new car delivery list of new automakers in the month, and once again set a new record for Li Auto's monthly delivery. In September, Li Auto delivered more than 36,000 new vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 212.7%.
"In September, with the continuous growth of market demand, we achieved a number of historic breakthroughs, with weekly sales, monthly sales and order volume all reaching new highs, of which Li Auto's order volume in September alone exceeded 40,000. The three models of the ideal L series have exceeded 10,000 units delivered per vehicle for two consecutive months. Li Xiang, chairman and CEO of Ideal Auto, said.
In second place in the list of new car deliveries of new automakers in the month was Leap Auto. In September, Leap delivered a record high of 15,800 units, and delivered a cumulative total of 44,300 new vehicles in the third quarter, up 30% month-on-month, with an average monthly delivery of nearly 15,000 units. It is worth mentioning that the Leap C01 Super Range Extender and Leap C11 Super Range Extender models were launched in September, and Leapmotor hopes to achieve an increase in deliveries through the launch of new products.
It is followed by NIO. NIO delivered 15,600 new vehicles in September, up 43.8% y/y. A total of 55,400 new vehicles were delivered in the third quarter, a year-on-year increase of 75.4%, a record high. In January~September, NIO delivered nearly 110,000 new vehicles.
The fourth place in terms of new deliveries is Xpeng Motors. In September, Xpeng Motors delivered a total of 15,300 new vehicles, up 12% month-on-month and 81% year-on-year, of which Xpeng G6 deliveries reached 8,132 units, with a cumulative delivery volume of about 19,400 units.

In fifth place is Nezha Auto. Nezha delivered approximately 13,200 new vehicles in September, up 9.2% month-on-month.

In terms of new brands built by traditional car companies, data released by Aion showed that its sales in September were about 51,600 units, a year-on-year increase of 72%; Cumulative sales of new vehicles in January~September were approximately 351,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 93%. Aion revealed that its high-end brand Haobao's supercar model will be launched on October 9 and start delivery.

Geely Holding's high-end smart electric brand Zeekr announced that it delivered about 12,100 vehicles in September, compared with 8,276 units a year earlier, and as of the end of September this year, the overall cumulative delivery of Zeekr was 157,000 vehicles.
In addition, in September, Lantu Automobile delivered 5,010 new vehicles, up 99% year-on-year and 25% month-on-month. In January ~ September, Lantu Automobile's delivery volume exceeded 27,000, a year-on-year increase of 102%; Skyworth Auto delivered a total of 3,635 new vehicles in September, of which 1,420 were exported overseas, a year-on-year increase of 142%; Deep Blue delivered 17,300 units in September. Among them, the S7 has delivered more than 10,000 units in two consecutive months since its launch.
From the data released by the above-mentioned companies, it is not difficult to find that many brands achieved year-on-year sales growth in September. According to data from the Passenger Association, its forecast for retail sales of passenger cars in the narrow sense in September will be about 1.98 million units, an increase of 3.1% month-on-month and 3.0% year-on-year. Among them, new energy retail sales are expected to be about 750,000 units, an increase of 4.7% month-on-month, a year-on-year increase of 22.3%, and a penetration rate of about 37.9%.
"Following the concentrated launch of new energy products in the second quarter, at the Chengdu Auto Show from August 27 to September 3, multiple brands launched pre-sales with new new energy products, and this wave of new products was gradually launched and released, which formed a strong support for the new energy market in September and the fourth quarter." The China Automobile Dealers Association said.
Dongguan Securities believes that the steady growth of the country and the continuous support for the expansion of new energy vehicle consumption policies in various places, coupled with the improvement of the cost performance of new products of car companies, support the release of potential demand, and the subsequent sales of new energy vehicles are expected to continue to rise.
