Wang Yaping was born in 1980 in a small mountain village in Fushan District, Yantai City, Shandong Province, to parents who were ordinary farmers who grew cherries to make a living.

Since she was a child, she has dreamed of becoming an astronaut and entering space to experience immersive space life, but Wang Yaping also understands that to become an astronaut, you must first become a good pilot.
As a result, Wang Yaping resolutely joined the Air Force and began his career as a pilot, the life of the Air Force is boring and busy, Wang Yaping not only has to frequently fly various types of military aircraft for training, but also to perform important tasks such as lightning and rain reduction, air patrols and so on.
In 2009, Wang Yaping received exciting news that China had openly recruited female astronauts for the first time! This is exactly the opportunity she dreamed of! With more than 1,500 hours of flight experience accumulated in the Air Force, Wang Yaping successfully passed the selection and became one of the first female astronauts in China.
After becoming an astronaut, Wang Yaping found that the training was more rigorous and difficult than expected, and at least 50 hours of underwater training a week were required to adapt to the feeling of weightlessness in the space environment.

Wang Yaping: The road to the protection of a special talent
